- Travelling by railroad in Nigeria is one of the best things you will ever enjoy when mobility is involved because with the concept of the new rail line which runs from Lagos to I Adan(OYO State) you will enjoy a beautiful scenery and experience a smooth train ride.
The train departs from Mobolaji Johnson station at Lagos and terminates at Obafemi Awolowo station at Ibadan.
there are other stations in between where the train stops and these include; AGEGE, PAPALANTO, ABEOKUTA and OMI ADIO.
The total journey time as at the time of this documentary was 4 hours.
The train does depart from Lagos by 08:00am. the maximum time spent on stopping was 5 minutes. and I must commend the corporation for their attention to timing.
The interior is neat, the waiting room is conducive and the parking lot is also spacious.
While this train leaves Lagos by 8, another does leave Ibadan at the same time and they get to cross each other on the way.
The train is being operated on diesel and manned drivers, there is adequate security onboard and here are some of their rules while onboard;
NO SMOKING
NO TAKING OF ALCHOHOL
NO TRAVELLING WITH ANIMALS (LIVING OR DEAD)
NO TRAVELLING WITH SHARP OBJECTS
MEN OF THE FORCE TRAVELLING WITH THEIR WEAPONS MUST SUBMIT IT TO THE CSO ON-BOARD
LUGGAGE HEAVIER THAN 25KG ARE NOT ALLOWED ON BOARD.
nice one ....
Naija on top, exactly what I have seen across Europe, tanx for having inter state train ecowas govt should work together and provide international train terminal.
That will really go a long way as it will also make the cost of some items cheaper due to easy accessibility. Thank you for the contribution 💕
We have not had the train service for long, and Nigerians have turned the rail route into a marketplace. We have said many times that the tracks should be fenced off.
The tracks are actually fenced. People vandalize it and thereby open space for illegal sales on the track
Nice one 👍🏽... keep it up
Thank youuu
