    So Matthew misbehaved over and over again and was then rewarded by his father picking him up and playing with him? What was that about?

    I think it's hysterical (not really) that the 3 foods they get the little one to try food is chocolate cake, honey on toast, and brie. All sooo nutritious!

      That’s so not the point! They got him to try unfamiliar foods! They saw what they had to do to make him feel relaxed and comfortable enough to try something new. Now they can branch out from there.

    Here, try this tiny piece of stinky fish off of my unwashed middle finger. 🤢😒
    I had never heard of food phobia until Supernanny aired UK Episodes. Having lived in different areas of the US for over 60 years, I doubt if you’ll find much food phobia in the States. I think it has to do with our historical differences with food shortage and farm lands. Ration books.

    • @lessehead
      @lessehead Год назад +1

      Oh, it happens in the US. I know a couple kids who had it and had to go to feeding therapy and were still very particular and with food aversions as adults. Young children don’t know or care about the history of a country! It is a psychological issue.

      @@lessehead I did qualify my response by saying that you won’t find much. The historical differences referred to food shortages and rations during WWII in which the great grandparents, grandparents parents of the “food phobic” kids were influenced. (Not as in aUS much) As parents do and did, whatever food they’d acquire was given to the kids (back then). I’m assuming it was precious. Growing up in food shortage homes. It’s so very frustrating to post an innocuous comment and have it backhanded to you. 🫤

      @@numberone5680 It happens much more often than you think. Psychologists deal with eating disorders all the time. This is how kids become anorexic or bulemic. In this lazy, fast and junk food dependent society, many parents can’t be bothered to expose their young children to a wide variety of healthy, nutritious foods. Then, when they finally wake up bc their kids are overweight, have digestive or nutritional issues or other food related problems and try to feed their kids healthy foods, the kids balk bc the tastes and textures are so foreign to them. Europeans don’t have this problem nearly as much bc the kids eat what the parents eat. There’s a book about why French kids don’t have eating disorders. They eat together at the table every day as a family. Meals are time to bond as a family, not to be rushed, and the kids eat home cooked meals, exactly what the parents eat. We need to get back to that.

      Charlie's parents are freaking him out. Especially his Mom. She doesn't let him speak for himself. He does so better with other children when his parents aren't smothering him.

    That's why I watched so many of the ones that shows how they do at home because Charlie Fletcher doesn't show how they do at home But I would just like to watch it from beginning to end On the other ones the next picture comes up on my phone in the order it goes

    • @lessehead

      She showed Charlie’s parents how to do it at home! It’s an anxiety induced condition, so remove the expectations and don’t force anything. She showed them how to do the slide in technique. The talking bear and the toucan seemed to work very well, so I’m sure Tanya sent those home with the Fletchers. This is a temporary condition; he will grow out of it as he matures and gains self confidence, and as his parents and teachers work with him on his terms and on his pace. He was already talking by the end of the week.
