A game where you just shoot a target yet it's amazing (and free).

What a weird game genre. It's got the soothing mindlessness of watching a fish tank but the satisfaction of numbers go up and xp bars filling up. I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed watching that.

I usually get sidetracked a lot with incremental games but this made me focus on it for a whole 49 minutes. Great game

One thing I love about these incremental games is how the player character is just so focused on achieving whatever a dream they have. And that constant desire to get better at getting better which I think is really cool.

When you think about it, this really is just the gameplay loop of most games, but boiled down to its very basics and raw parts. Which I think is kind of charming in a way, why overcomplicate things just to make the player feel like what they're doing is more profound and complicated than it really is, when big number making bigger number make monke brain have dopamine?

If your base chance to crit is 5%… then increasing your crit chance by 100% will put it at 10%
How much it’s increasing depends on what the base crit chance is, probably

Adding 100% crit damage will increase crit damage from 200% to 300%, or that is how it works in most of these types of games. Secondly, unless I am mistaken, not all of the arrows were critting, just normal and ice arrows (I believe), which means the overall damage isnt gonna increase all that much.

I think the only change in additional accuracy beyond 100 is that at 200 all ice arrows would crit too, and with extra crit damage that is decent damage.

  • @Senen33

I think you got lost in the magic tree a bit. Accuracy gives crit chance to your normal arrows, but you unlocked a trait that added +50% of your Accuracy as a crit chance to your ice arrow. For a good while, your Ice arrows were top damage but you disregarded the "Accuracy" part of the ice arrow tree because you thought Accuracy wasn’t useful anymore. Also, Ice arrows hit every target, so they are a good reason to add targets (and conversely, adding a target is one of the reasons your ice arrows were doing so much more compared to your other arrows).
A lot to track in this game, and as always, being a viewer it’s easier to parse thing and not get lost in the sauce, since we don’t have to actually do anything else.

Great game for a one off hour of fun, literally no replay value however. Which isnt a problem bc its free but it does kinda feel bad to reach the end after less than an hour of gameplay and then just have a restart button presented to you.

I did however beat it twice just to see if it would have any replay value, gave up halfway thru the third run and havent touched it since. Bit of a shame and i hope the developer considers making a real game out of it even if they wanted to charge for it then

To be honest, I kinda prefer games doing that over having useless prestige systems that just make you go forever without a goal in mind. Makes me have that little bit of closure and final satisfaction, knowing I've done everything I could've and I can move on to the next game with no regrets.

Ehh idk, the final timer being shown does at least imply that you can try replaying a few times to see if you can get to the end faster.

Considering the dev is using the game to learn how to properly release games on steam, and also intended it to be a short game, kinda neat tbf.

I love these games because they are a very simple scam : by multiplying progress bars and changing a few lines of text here and there, they make you believe that you are achieving something, while in reality you are only engaged in the pointless act of watching numbers grow.
I'd rather watch a tree grow for an hour.

The dev uploaded the game as a means to learn how to release a game to the store properly, and therefore set the price to 0. Literally no harm done here, it's like the good old days of finding a game on miniclip or newgrounds
