That's a wonderful master class. The approach is very intuitive and guitar oriented. And it deals with melody, which helps getting into the whole process. Thank you!!!
Isn't scale degree 2 of harm min BDFA Bmin7b5. The diminished chord occurs on scale degree 7, G#BDF. You could start that chord G#BDF on B and get the first inversion BDFG#, same chord but it doesn't start on scale degree 2 of Harm Min. Wondering why he explains it in this way.
i love how much of a goofball Kurt is
No Prima Donna here!! Refreshing, but not uncommon with jazz musicians, I think.
Wished I was a goofball
the jazz guru
Hilarious

Kurt is just a source of beautiful original ideas

All I want for Christmas is kurt rosenwinkel masterclass Santa
Pure artistry. Inspiring.
He starts with a classical guitar piece by Leo Brouwer .. amazing ❤
Kurt's hand writing signature is full artistry
He got that mozartesque musical omniscience and adolescent comedic sense. He perfect
beautiful guitar and great lesson
Man...that guy's a genius.
really refreshing insight on practicing scales ! Thanks for sharing !

Inner harmony - I'll say it: practice is prayer (or meditation if you prefer)
Thanks Kurt.
Great Master!!! Glad to hear You about cuban Genius Leo Brouwer
love!
Great work ethic-
The explanation of diminished chords at 5:45 is quite useful!
Yes. Pure music math : half step below any diminished 7th chord tone becomes the root of a dominant seventh chord !
In French Leo Brouwer song is « Les Yeux Sorciers » ❤
Nice lesson, thanks.
love this! there's almost a Bob Ross vibe going on.
I finally understand how to use the diminished.
ur webpage not working
The Mr Mackey “mkay” thrown in there 😂😂😂
cool!
I'd to get the master class but the site is not working
Awsome
Sounds exceptional on that Axe. That guitar really speaks
Man, I’m an idiot and you’re a genius ❤

yup!
Might be because he’s working with triads, not 7th chords. The 2nd triad is B, D, F. Which is a B diminished triad.
And the “7”th of B (A) could be replaced by the “7”th of the A harm min scale, (G#, Ab), which makes B dim 7 ( BDFAb).
Heard you.
Great Lesson, but I just have to say that the Guitar you are playing is Sweeter than Marilyn Monroe.
A Moffa
Nice fluency.
I thought the ii in harm minor was a minor7b5? Isn’t he saying it is a diminished 7?
can be both! Use whatever sounds best in context
If you’re just using triads, which seems to be what he’s focused on, then it would be diminished.
All jokes aside , this was funny to me. Even more raspect for the looseness of this master
I can listen all day to Kurt play, but I don’t know where he’s going with this lesson.
This is awesome but the masterclass is a bit pricey
wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
bob ross of guitar
but yeah, Yeeeaaauuuhh! XD
Lol who is the sad woman in the forest? Too funny
