Adore all those beautiful fabrics together ❤. Lists are always good if I have lots of on the go, but generally I let myself do whatever I want and refuse to feel guilty about any of it. Occasionally I have a big frogging session if there are wips that Ive abandoned for too long. Also I set a timer for half an hour when I’m online (unless I can just listen) as social media can easily make you feel frustrated.
I love a list too and have a notebook on my desk I try and make a list of what I want to achieve that day, even if it’s go for a longer walk with the dogs. In my craft room I also have a pin board. I have 1” x 3” pieces of card and write a project on each one. The pinboard has a Work On column, a Hold column and a Would Like column. I can see at a glance what is in process, and I can shift them around in order of importance too, and what I have the stuff for but haven’t started yet as well as what I would perhaps like to start in the future. I don’t feel like I’m drowning when I can see it all up there.
Not much crafting for me this weekend as it’s husbands special birthday and it’s full on celebrations all weekend! I used to become a bit stressed with too many things on the go but I have made myself slow down and limit my new starts! I reward myself with a new start once I have finished something else! Lists are a “must” too. Safe journey to Somerset xx
Wow your patchwork bag is fabulous 😻. I have a maximum of 5 projects in bags in my basket but find I only knit on 2 of them. I can’t cope with working on lots of projects at a time xx
Hi Jeanette. I am so enjoying your daily chats. It's like a friend popping in for a quick chat 😊. I always have a pair of socks on the needles. Lots of other projects like a shawl, mittens, jumper, and often little seasonal chrochet ornaments. Sometimes it gets a bit much and then i write a list like you did. Have a lovely weekend with Katie and family 😊
“3 cheers for the crazy patchwork look!!” 🥳🎉 LOVE your panel!! The colours, the patterns (the little Nemo’s 🥰🧡🖤🤍) So cool and fun to cast your eye over and discover all the different little inclusions. Big fan! 🩷 Cabin girl is the absolute cutest 🥰! Love her little hat! Would be so tempting to make a matching one for yourself! Such a cute design! Tell all that stress to take a hike and allow that ‘craftjo’ to lead you to the projects that will make you happiest in the moment ✨ New projects, ancient wips, it doesn’t matter. Whatever you feel like doing, do that 😉 Deadlines, timeframes, shop re-stocking, content for videos, etc. can encroach on our crafty happiness so easily. However, I can tell you honestly, I adore your videos for you. Your makes and talent are varied, inspiring and just so amazing, but YOU are the magic ingredient in your videos. As soon as you start to feel overwhelmed with pressure, take a breath, a step back and tell it to bugger off 😉 because YOUR pace with YOUR projects is the RIGHT pace. We are all just incredibly grateful to get to share in your crafty journey and go along for the ride with you 💝 Have a fantastic time at Katie’s 😘❤ xx
I love lists, especially checking things off once they are done. I can only have about 2 items on the go at a time. I get stressed if I have more than that. I enjoy many crafts and end up with a mess, that is very stressful. 😊
The operative word is “yet”. It’s not that there are things you’ve acquired that you don’t use; it’s simply that you haven’t used them YET! 😊 Outlook is everything.
I am very lucky that I am retired and can craft as long and as often as I want, but get frustrated, like you, that there is so much I would like to do at the same time. I think perhaps it would work for me if I stopped trawling through the internet quite so much for even more projects and focussed on what I have for now. (I ordered a TOFT doll today). I have a crochet distance learning course to finish, in addition to other stuff and really ought to prioritise that. Now I have seen your lovely patchwork though, I want to do that too! Haha! I have wadding but have never quilted anything before. Hope you can show us how you do yours, by hand or by machine, please. I love crafting and enjoy your channel the best! Enjoy your weekend with your daughter.
I've found that if I have more than 2 or 3 projects out to work on, it's too much. So I have all my projects but 2 or 3 put away where I can't see them. Then when I finish one, I get out another. You really do accomplish a huge amount of projects though! Maybe if you ask, someone watching could send you just enough of the toft to finish cabin girl's nose. Wouldn't hurt to try? Love your artisan apron. Have a fun weekend. Treat yourself to a doll with the Toft sale. I would love the Beatrix Potter doll, but that will have to wait. Hugs
Love the crazy patchwork and hand quilting will look really gorgeous. Your workspace is great! Don’t look at mine lol. Have a lovely time with Katie and her family, safe journeys love and hugs xx
Hi Jeanette, yes I want to make everything sometimes my health prevents my craft time but I try not to dwell on that. I do get frustrated when it’s 3 stitches in and then you undo 2 😂. I get stressed about getting my home made gifts to people on time. I find at times my craft room becomes the dumping ground. So a good tidy up makes me feel better and I can start over. Love a list very satisfying to tick things off. Enjoy your time with Katie and family. Look forward to seeing you next week. Travel safe. ❤❤
I just love to watch your excitement for new projects! You “enabled” 😉 me to order special yarn for the new gnome. I usually try to limit my active projects to 3 because I find when I go back to a forgotten project that I can’t remember what I was doing 🤭. Just stay as you- you’re perfect 👍
I have lots of projects on the go, one crochet project, one knitting project and a sewing / quilting project and a craft group/handbag project. I just work on whichever depending on the mood lol. These are mostly for charity
Hi Jeanette, you have done a fantastic job of cabin girl! She looks fabulous!. Your bag will be awesome!. Have a nice weekend with Katie & her family!. Mandy xxx😊
Oh you make me so happy. I’m a newbie to your channel and love it. I’m a monogamous knitter, anything else makes me scatterbrained! Have a lovely time away 🇨🇦🌸
Have a wonderful weekend, stress free! I tend to have a focus project for each craft - gives me an opportunity to try and work on those. Much as I would like to have lots of different projects on the go I’m not really suited to that way of working. Having said that I have just realised I have four quilts on the go, so please don’t listen to me!
Hi Jeanette - it is amazing isn't it that things we do ask Dobbies and to relax end up getting us stressed. I'm like you and love lists for everything and I find I'm better starting one project and finishing it before starting anything else. If I don't then I end up with lots of started but not quite finished things. Hope you haven't already lovely weekend with the family.
I do allow myself four or five projects at a time but have so many queued up including toft dolls so that is where the buying more kits has to stop as it becomes too overwhelming and I put too much stress on myself so have to reign myself in, I need to enjoy my crafting and have realised I am one person and cannot do everything I would like to do. I have had to have a very strong word with myself recently as it was getting out of hand I hope your lists work for you ad provide some clarity xx
I am mostly monogamous in crafting, one quilting project and one crochet. I sew in my craft room during the day but crochet in the living room in the evening. I don't always craft every day. Sometimes I will be very focused and get to crafting every day. Other days I'd rather just sit and watch the birds.🤗 I love a scrappy project😘, the bag looks fun!
Enjoyed your week of vlogs. I keep an easy tv project to work on. Through the day I would do 30 mins on a harder project. Sometimes I do have a third thing on the go. But I also want to spin/weave/journal!!!! 😮 A typical crafter. I might do one month concentrating on one of these. have a lovely weekend ❤
Enjoying the daily podcasts have a brillant weekend with your daughter and family us crafters are such perfectionist we cause are own stress ❤ take care
Got my Bella and Boo project bag - hurrayyyyyyyyyyyyy!! I was actually in time :) I realised today that all of my handmade project bags are yours Jeanette!! Beautiful bags xxxxxx
I have to only knit on one project at a time or I feel overwhelmed and it become a job instead of a pleasure. But everyone needs to figure out what works for them.
Hi Jeanette, I love a list but I love ticking them off even more 😂. Your bag is going to look fantastic, the patterns all fit well together and Cabin Girl is looking good. I don't call your paper crafting desk a mess, if I could post a photo of mine you'd see what a mess really looks like ha ha. I only ever made one thing at a time whether it was sewing, knitting or crocheting and have done that since I started nearly 70 years ago otherwise I'd feel overwhelmed, but making cards, scrapbooks and journals which I've done for 25 years is another matter! Have a brilliant time at your daughter's x
My hubby Timothy is a great believer in list. He will make a list for practically anything 😂😂. I absolutely love my journal making but I think I need to take a few lessons as I don’t feel very confident when it comes to my paper crafting. Xx
Hi Jeanette by this tie you will be home again after visiting Katie.hope you had a luvly visit.I find it easier to have 1 knit on the go 1 crochet which im learning and 1 sewing.ive tried lots of different things but i get stressed as well.so by concentrating on 1 at a time i find it easier. When you retire you think you have all the time in the world but you dont.anyway it will be interesting to read others views.hope you sort yours out and yes im another list writer.!!! Pauline x
I love your cabin girl. She's really cute. ❤ I don't have more than 3 or 4 projects going at a time. Otherwise I feel overwhelmed. Is that how you're feeling? So, I don't start something new until I finish something.
I also have a ton of wips, started too much, and bought some arm ( 2 kits) for three very complicated garments, I have decided no more complicated. So I am about 3/4 done on the first one, it’s ever so much a struggle, and trying to work on two garments at a time, one difficult and one easy. And then the amugurumi, socks ,small shawl , newborn bootees etc so I’m doing what you are , take out so many projects and leave out to finish, I’m very stressed again!!
Our weather here is S.Australia is just "beautiful" 40C and it's supposed to be autumn. I've been wearing a cool nightie for most of the day 🥰 I love the crazy patchwork for the front of your bag Jeanette - well done, it looks amazing! May I ask a question? I am very new to patchwork, and I'm procrastinating. To be fair, I have been knitting 😍Back to the question Do I wash the material before I start to cut or not bother? I'm with you on the knitting, I used to do loads way back when then I had a hiatus of many years. I love to knit but so much has changed! I hope that you had a lovely weekend 😘Xx It's so silent (birds) outside because it's too hot. They will have to come out later to eat ( my fruit trees) it's a great privilege to have them visit my garden so I'd better make sure that they have plenty of water. They're so beautiful - and noisy!
Oh your garden sounds perfect. Timothy and I love to watch our birds. We feed them everyday and of course plenty of water. Regarding your fabric, some say wash before hand however I never do. I’ve washed bags in the past that I have quilted and they’ve turned out to perfect. X
Hi, I love the doll!!! Enjoy your few days away . because I’m not a good writer I mainly work with pictures if I have a project to do or so, I tend to make pictures drawings in a book, not that I’m good at drawing. I’ll colour it in and see how it looks, and that’s how I do it or I will take a picture on my phone undecided what I want to do, this seems to work for me I am more picture orientated rather than writing, I will spend several days looking at them then I’ll make a decision of what I want to do. 🍄🍄🐷
Hi Jeanette my favourite animal is a elephant. My daughter loves your dinosaur fabric that you have she also likes monkeys to. The front of the bag looks fab. Blood test all good this week so will be going ahead with treatment on Tuesday. Have a fab weekend xx .i will send you a ball if you want me to x
I love the crazy patch work, it’s the perfect way to show off the fabrics xx
Bag is looking good. They say a messy crafter is a good crafter x
❤happy weekend to you Jeanette 🎉🎉🎉

I think most of us crafters want to do everything and hard to decide .i think we are our own worst enamies
Hi, I like to start and finish a project before I start another but I'm lucky cos my husband is very understanding if the housework doesn't get done🤣
