Crack cocaine is what skyrocketed the crime rate in the Bronx and every other major city in this country from the 80's-90's. I'll give you that rap music can influence people to do violent shit but it's not the root cause of Black urban violence pre the drill music scene. It's was overwhelmingly the drug trade and what was associated with it.
