Oh wow! I definitely love this. Im definitely passing this to my sister. But if god willing i ever get blessed to be a mommy i would definitely consider this. Schools scare me even though its needed its definitely safer at home at least for a few yrs while they grow and are able to defend themselves.
We will be starting year 3 of homeschool this year. We love it so much! We use The good and the beautiful and love it! Praying for a successful year for you all!
Our kids have been enrolled in a cyber school since kindergarten because of severe food allergies. We love the flexibility it allows our family, and they have teachers/classmates just like a public school. The only difference is it’s all via a webcam instead of in person. I personally was afraid of taking on the “teacher” role or choosing the correct curriculum. However, I’m sure you’ll do great, and I look forward to watching your journey. ❤
I'm so excited for you guys! I was homeschooled starting in 2nd grade too and I did it through 12th grade. It's been awhile but I absolutely loved it! The best part is how personalized it can be. Don't be afraid to be a little untraditional with your school day! I was the kid who sat down in the morning and did all my school in 1 go. My brother would do a couple lessons, have a "recess" , a couple more lessons, have lunch and a short a recess again then finish up. It's all about what works best for you and Axel! 😊
How exciting for y'all! We homeschooled our son from 5th-12th. He will be starting his 2nd year of college soon. You can do this. It's great that you have some friends that are familiar with it. That will be very helpful. It's very nice to be able to focus one on one on things that he needs. You will quickly find out what his learning style is and what will work best. Don't worry too much about already changing your mind on curriculum...it happens, and you may change it up again in the middle. Be flexible and you will find a routine that works for y'all! Looking forward to following along on your journey. :)
It's a lot of work but so worth it. I'm a single fulltime time mom. I also worked 50+ hrs. So, if I can do it anyone can do it lol. It's all about finding what works for you.
Kayla, You're going to be a wonderful teacher for your son. Looks like you've chosen an excellent curriculum! Isn't it funny how school zones are divided. For my HS years I lived very close to a newly built High School which my parents thought I would be attending. It turns out we lived right on the border and instead I was sent to a HS that was all the way across town. The school looked like an old European Castle...not even kidding. It had four floors with a Planetarium at the very top. The staircases were solid marble. It had so much character and charm and of course I loved it:)
That sounds so cool! ❤️ And yes, it’s wild sometimes how you have to pass the school you’d think you’d be zoned for and go way further for the zoned school.. 😅
my neighbor has 4 little kids and she home schools all of them sometime she teaches them how to cook sometimes the have a lesson gardening where there food come from
Hi Kayla I was so surprised about this news. I know you will do great because you seem to have lots of patience. Just wondering what is wrong with the school in your zone?
It is probably a good school, much larger than his current one..but we had considered homeschooling before so when it came to switching schools we talked to Axel about it and decided to go this route and see how it goes. ❤️
I’m so happy to hear that! I’ve heard some great things about it and while looking at it and comparing it to some other options I definitely felt like it was the way to go for us at this point.
@athomewithkayla We will! Granted, my little will only be starting preschool technically, so much more laid back lol but I look forward to watching your journey and am super excited for your family!
wow, I love this! Im so excited to see what works and what doesn't. My kids are still too young for school, but I have seen Axel for years in your couponing videos and he seems to be just as energetic as my boys. Im particularly interested in how you manage his energy levels and staying focused. Like, do you do a one hour focus time one hour play, etc. I know you wont know until you start, but I know you're so honest and can't wait to learn more :)
I appreciate this comment so much! I have been really thinking about this because he is so active so I will definitely update on what works best for us! 😆
Can you do a video on new homeschooling and the requirements you had to complete to start? Did you have to notify the school superintendent the curriculum and that he wouldn’t be attending? Really would be interesting in a I’m starting homeschooling here’s what I did video and here’s my set up. Also updates on if you liked what you chose for curriculum later on as you get into it and if you purchased other things instead. You really do it all. ❤ your couponing channel it has saved me so much.
Thank you so much! I was just talking to a friend of mine about how it may be helpful to show the beginning of homeschooling because you don’t always see how to get started and what the requirements are. I’ll see what I can put together. ❤️
You can sign up with an umbrella school, but you aren’t required to. You can turn in an intent to home school form and homeschool individually but if you use an umbrella school, they can handle most things for you. I may sign up with one eventually, but I haven’t at this time.
@@athomewithkayla that is a great idea when i said my neighbor once a week cooking class she has 4 kids younger than axel put it teaches them meausrements
You are going to do great!! Both of you will be successful. Love, prayers & patience will get you through all things!
Kayla I asked you in another video why you decided to home school. I found this video explained it to me. You'll do great sweetie ❤
You and Axel will do great! 🙏
I can't wait to see Axel looking at his books.

Love that! It’s nice to hear from someone who was homeschooled, and the differences in schedules and learning with each child. ❤️

good luck teaching Axel. You will do great. I have some friends that have homeschooled their kids but I never did.
Thank you!
We homeschooled from 3rd grade to 12th. My son graduated h.s early too. He only needed 1 credit his Senior yr. You are going to love it!

That is so awesome! You’re amazing! ❤️
You can do this. Everyone was forced to homeschool their kids when we were going through the pandemic.
Thank you! Right?!

I would love additional updates as you go!
Thank you, I’ll definitely update.
Good luck to you as well as Axel....y'all will do great!
Thank you for the encouragement 💜
We really like the good and the beautiful. I use the math and La for all 3 of my boys. We've used it for almost 4 years now.

Goodandbeautiful language arts including Geography so you don't need extra. We did level 1 it was so good, excited to start Level 2 this year.
Thank you! ❤️
Wow looks like you are on top of this good luck💕
Thank you! I hope so ❤️
Will be back to watch this video but saw it pop up and had to comment that I'm so excited for you! We're also going to begin homeschooling :)
Aww thank you! That is so exciting! We’ll be learning together 😉

also every morning they stand up and says the pledge
I was thinking about that too, I have a small flag for us to use.
Which umbrella school did you sign up with? I’m starting to homeschool my kindergartner this year here in Tennessee also.

how many hrs a day or you going to have your class how are you going to do your couponing
I am thinking of doing a four-day school week. Yes, I will still be doing my couponing. 😁❤️
