Took the Nokta Legend out for its first hunt. Tried out both the stock and the 6 inch coils. At the end of the video i will give my thoughts on both coils as well as the Nokta Legend. I have much more planned with the Nokta Legend so stay tuned.
Below i have some of the things linked i use in this channel as well as where I purchased my Nokta Legend.

Nice hunt with the Legend. Sniper coils are a real help in trashy areas where you have to wiggle around things. Good to see the Legend holding its own! It takes time for you to bond to a detector. You have to dig out the iron and junk to find the good stuff!
You are right it takes time to really learn any detector, but it sure is fun when the light bulbs start to light up in your mind as you start to figure things out. Thanks for watching I'll have another hunt coming later this week hopefully a beach hunt. I also have a few other fun things planned 😁
Very good stuff. I am waiting for my Legend Pro Pac to arrive. Can’t wait to try it out here on Prince Edward Island. HH from Digger Al 😊
Thanks and I hope your pro pack arrives soon. I've definitely have had a great time so far learning this machine and can't wait to get out with it again.
They lowered Toledo Bend Lake to fix the dam in the mid 90s and I found 3 nice 14k gold rings one after another in under 40 minutes at a boat landing on the Louisiana side with a Radio Shack Bounty Hunter detector. Then I hit a trash dump that ruined it. Water was about 5 to 7 feet lower than normal.
Heck yeah always great to be there when they do something like that to reap the rewards. I remember as a kid I was in Florida before a storm and the tide went way out. There was a guy there metal detecting and had a clip on his belt loop full of rings he had found. Probably one of the reasons I metal detect today.
Excellent first intro for Legend owners , 6 inch coil nailed it T
Thanks its a lot of fun learning a new detector. I'm really enjoying the legend so far and that 6" coil is definitely a great addition.
Good Luck One future digs with the Legend, Looks like You had a good time out digging. I know I like the smaller coils for any detector I have swung. Never did get the sp24 coil for the Simplex But what I have seen it does the job so much better then the Stock coil.. So you are right the same size coil for the legend should knock it out of the park..
Thanks and yes I prefer the smaller coils as well. Big coils are great, but for most of the places I detect the separation of a small coil is hard to beat. Hopefully I'll be headed down to the beach this week and we'll see how the legend likes these southeast Texas beaches lol. Hopefully the spring breakers left me some goodies.
Waiting on my pro pack, I can't wait to see what I can find in my old spots.
You'll love it! I have been totally impressed with mine so far. Hopefully I'll be out detecting with mine tomorrow. Probably gonna just hit some tot lots. Want to get out with the 6" coil and have some fun. Thanks for watching and happy hunting.
Hey cowboy nice hunt it won't take you long to learn it .I will be watching and learning from you thanks cowboy 👍
Hey thanks for watching. We are learning this one together. Learning a new detector is half the fun. Next hunt I'll be taking the legend to the beach. Should be a lot of fun.
Kids here in my region in Louisiana got everyone banned from great metal detecting sites by trashing and vandalizing property or I`d get the Simplex to hunt the old swimming holes. I bought a cheap open box Vanquish 340 but it goes deep and maybe I can find something in the woods on my sister`s land. Nowhere else to hunt anymore. These new detectors sure are amazing compared to what we had decades ago. I started with a very heavy Whites in the 70s.
Sucks punk kids had to ruin it for everybody. Can't let that stop you though just got to find new places. The good thing about private land is you just have to ask one person lol. Never know what's in the ground somewhere till you dig. Good luck finding some good places to hunt. If you know any local realtors maybe they can put you on a good spot never know.
What digging tool is this? 13:42 13:43
That's a White's groundhawg shovel. Unfortunately whites isn't around anymore, but serious metal detecting sells a shovel that looks just like it. I think its call a red devil or something. I guess since whites isn't around maybe the patent was up for grabs for that shovel.
Vdi seem to be all over the place as well as seems to be falsing tons. I’m sure the machine is capable but just my observations from your vid. What do your think when you compare to others?
Well this was my first hunt with the 1.04 firmware. Also I have to admit there was a little user error as I was nit familiar with the settings yet. I was also hunting a park with underground and above power so honestly I thought the machine ran pretty smooth. I have a friend that runs an at pro that can't even detect that area. I hate to compare machines as they all have their strengths abd weaknesses, but I will say the fact that it compares with machines much higher in price tells you that you get a lot more for your money with the Legend. Since the 1.07 update the machine is a beast on land and on the beach. Definitely very happy with my legend and would recommend it to someone looking for a multi frequency detector.
I still need to update mine. Running with 1.05
Last detector was AT PRO. going to continue to hit places a bit hard with other one to see if I can sniff anything out. Only about 8 hours so far and not updates to newest version. I’m not disappointed but not inpressed either. Could just be the few spots I hit so far are not good as well. Few more outings I’ll have a better gauge. Need a partner to hunt with so I can compare signals with the AT PRO and see if either hit a target and other won’t.
The Legend will definitely give you more information and hit targets that the at pro will not. The AT Pro is a great machine, but the Legend is just more advanced. Just give the Legend more time to learn what it's telling you and you'll do very well. Can't lie my first hunt half the day I was a little lost. Slowly it started to click and i fell in love lol. If you ever have any questions let me know I'll try and help. Happy hunting my friend!
I'm really interested in the Legend but I have to say, one of the things I'm going to miss about the Simplex+ is the fact that my Nokta pinpointer comes through my headphones. When I turn on my pinpointer, my Simplex goes quiet instead of laying on the ground chirping. I just don't see Nokta being able to provide this feature now that they've gone to the Aptx LL Bluetooth Headphone setup. Don't get me wrong... the Aptx LL Headphones are a nice feature because as you've shown in other videos, you aren't necessarily tied to using Nokta's headphones (you can buy earbuds like you demonstrated). But because they went to off the shelf technologies, I don't think they can easily support the auto switch feature that the green headphones have. I would really miss that now that I've become so accustomed to it.
Well something interesting about the new nokta headphones is you can actually pair your phone and machine at the same time. You can actually take a call while still detecting and the person you are talking to can't hear the detector, but you can. If that is a capability I could see in the future a pin pointer that would be Bluetooth as well. There was a comment once by Dilek that another pin pointer was in the works, but i haven't heard anything about it recently. Maybe because all their efforts have been on the Legend lately. As much as I love my simplex the amount of advancements on the Legend is amazing. Sad to say I don't think the simplex will be getting much use for a while lol. Definitely loving the Legend so far.
Nice video man. I'm in Huffman. Would love to know what park that was.
Jenkins park over in Baytown
@@TheTexanDetectorman I forgot about Jenkin's park. I grew up in Baytown. Have only been detecting 5 months or so. Went to bicentennial Park in Baytown but they don't want to let you dig there. Thanks man
Really I've hunted bicentennial park a few times never had any problem.
I made the mistake of asking. No one at city hall knew so they called the head of the parks department. He said it was ok to metal detect but he didn't want anyone digging in his park. I think he's just an ass. So I did it anyways. Only went once but I found my first watch there.
Have you hunted Roseland park?
Is this 6 inch coil compatible with the triple score?
@@kyzer122 no unfortunately the legend coils are not compatible with the score series
@TheTexanDetector thank you for the answer. Love your stuff btw.
