When people talk about humans drinking milk I’m always reminded that the Israelites dreamt of a land flowing with milk and honey. (Not only does that speak about the quality of the pasture to produce both of those foods - but it speaks to the fact that milk is a prized consumption throughout ancient history.)
Absolutely inspiring Good Morning Guys🤩♥️♥️♥️✌️🦋
Wow! I'm in awe of this woman's toned arms. Mike, The Fit Farmer should be impressed.😊😊
Love Ms. Dougherty. She is an Impressive Homesteader with Valuable knowledge and wisdom. Would love to see or hear more from her. She Excels!
Thankfully no one has visited us yet. We’re the definition of imperfection. So much work to do every day. Never enough time.
This is my favorite video! Justin, I started watching your videos during C-19, when we were still living in California. You’re inspiration and God’s providence are why we landed in Ohio last November, to our 10 acre property. I attended the Healing Land Conference in April and toured the Dougherty’s farm. THEY were the inspiration for us getting our Dairy cow, and God provided one. We’ve only been here for 7 months and we are farming! Being part of a Catholic Family Homestead Community has been a tremendous blessing. This video has really inspired me to focus my day more on the Mass. I used to attend daily Mass regularly but since starting our farm I felt like I couldn’t get there because of all the chores. The Dougherty’s have shown me that it is possible. Thanks so much for this great video🙏🏼💜🙏🏼 God Bless your family
Wow, this was so inspirational! She’s got some amazing muscles, bigger than mine and I workout in a gym. What am I doing!? I need to get a scythe!
Farm muscles are the strongest
😂🤣🙏🏼❤️✌️🦋
I was also admiring her arms. I guess I need to use my scythe! Lol
It was pleasure meeting you, Saturday at Lehman’s. (I was the guy with the tabbed out “Rooted Life” book). Now my wife expects me to refer to her as the “beautiful one.” 😊
LOL❣️ So...do what she says already, good for her & good for you🤗
The arms on that lady are impressive. You can tell she actually does use that scythe regularly. I need to start using one!
Thank you for the visit with the Dororties I am moving onto 52 acres of sagebrush in Central Oregon I was thinking it will take mee years b4 I can start raising any cows but this vlog gives me hope to have cows sooner
if ever, its desert,
Did you see the muscles on that woman; fantastic! 🤩🐶👍🏾
This was a fun surprise - you were in my neighborhood-ish! Dougherty's are awesome. And I am so glad the TOR sisters' call to prayer bell made it in your video.
Yes me too, those bells were beautiful.
WOW❣️❣️ This was a very heartwarming and refreshing video that gave us permission to live with the land, on the land knowing we’re not going to win and that’s OK😊♥️
Gave us permission to stop trying so hard and just enjoy what God has put in front of us!! I love this woman and what she had to say and I felt like a DEEP, FRESH BREATH OF AIR AFTER LISTENING TO HER SPEAK 😇😊♥️💕GOD BLESS YOU❣️❣️
When I grew up on a farm we use scythes & sickles to cut our weeds, But also grass in the pasture to take to the new mommy’s who are giving birth in the barn that first week until they were released out into the pasture knowing the baby calves were strong enough to go out with their Mothers…We had different pastors that were fenced off between beef cattle and dairy cattle and to this day I can appreciate the beauty of a Beef Angus steer or a baby angus or Hereford calf, but My real passion or dairy cattle hands-down, & the Jersey and Brown Swiss breed especially❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Thank you so much for this video and I look forward to how it affects and changes your life when you go home. One last thing, we had a spring well in our pasture as well. It was wonderful growing up with that and we had natural fluoride on our teeth which baffled the Dentist, and no cavities clear to adulthood❣️😊
So many great mentors for homesteading! I am grateful to be the old fart learning stuff.
Natural as Natural is, VERY smart. Her concept promotes content.
This women is how I picture myself in the future ❤️
And It looks to me like a scythe makes quicker work than a weed eater.
Yooo look at that ladies arms!!!💪💪 Screw a mower I’m getting a sythe!
I love them so much! I could sit & listen to them all day
Absolutely loved this video and I was impressed with Mrs Dougherty and her perspectives on homesteading. Her answer about drinking milk was priceless! Great content as usual Justin..
Just a few moments of watching her makes me want to change my life! Thank you for making a video of them
Have to say what an excellent share with the Dorty family. Absolutely sits right in my heart. Thank you for the share
I loved this video.....what amazing mentors you have concerning the ecosystem. Nature always wins. We just have to decide if we want to live with nature, on His terms.
When I and my children were still old order Amish our water was pumped no less than a half to 3/4 of a mile up hill by a Ram and it supplied water for two families and a host of livestock. Never had a problem.
I can foresee a ram pump project in the future for Jonah.
Love their perspective! You have amazing mentors in all areas, Rhodes family.
Awesome inspiration & family, yours included! Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic vidéo again Justin !!
Sooo many précious inspiring smart people you make us discover appréciate and love!
Blessings +++!!!
OMG I LOVE these people! Great life philosophy!
I’m with you 100% ✊✊✊ Join with the winning team, Nature‼️
Look at her killer biceps 💪🏻 ❤️
Wow mrs Dougherty sure has a fit body and guns. That is the way a homesteader should look. From hard physical labor like the old time farmers
Good to meet you guys at Lehmans this past weekend. Cheers
The way she farms in nature with nature is such a beautiful thing , to many destroy to have their idea of perfection
Blessings to all!
What a wonderful woman. Yes nature knows how to do it and we need to embrace that idea.
Let's join the winning team. Amen Justin!
What a refreshing perspective. I love her resolve!
What a great visit! I'm a big fan of theirs. It was interesting to hear the cows are eating the dog bane. It showed up on our property last year. The county agent had only ever seen it once before. I've been pulling it up mainly due to our dogs potentially eating it.
Spread the word, it IS NOT poisonous!
That was awesome, you will never win but nudge and suggest, love it
"They forgot to read the book" 😆
she's is wonderful! great water system, great info
Great video today! Thanks
Gosh I love that woman you visited!
Great video!
So true. It all wants to go back to forest. I deal with that here in Ohio planting and gardening in the woods. You have to pick your battles.
Bottom line...God ALWAYS wins... wether people believe it or not...one things for sure...this world is finite...but the one Jesus is preparing for those that love and follow Him is EVERLASTING...May the Lord BLESS you guys but NEVER forget to give Him ALL the Glory... when I watch what you are all doing I'm amazed how perfect God made EVERYTHING...thank you guys for teaching us so much...I can see you all but you cannot see me but you know and believe I'm on the other side...it reminds me a bit of how we have faith in our maker...God bless
God bless you all
I love this. Thank you for posting. Wish it was longer video
I want to see more of her/them!!! Brilliant!
Why use a scythe? Did you see the biceps on that woman? Damn right she doesn't need a gym membership! I'm gonna start scything tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣
Terrific video Justin. This is really encouraging.
That was really inspirational! If she had goats, the briar would be great for them! They can be a pain to manage but, I really like her system and her thought process!
I thought of goats too, I wonder is there a reason why they don't.
@@justme-uw6bz They are escape artists, the have a seminar on the living web farms channel and this is brought up, if you want to check it out it's called "reviving the independent farmstead"
@@Everyone_Dies thank you
@@justme-uw6bz Can't keep them in! That's the convent farm, no real perimeter fences there
@@Everyone_Dies Thank you!
You make some of the best content with information that we need to encourage us to press on, to grow, to succeed in this journey called life. I can grow, I can raise animals, I can regenerate the land the lord has blessed us with. I want to find the place he wants me to be. I want to take that land and work it to where it will grow healthy food for me and my parents. A place my children and grand children can come and help cultivate that land to where one day they will take it and feed their families.
We really enjoyed meeting you at Lehman’s. You were refreshing to listen to and an inspiration to us as a family of 10 who have been at this for nearly a decade!
I’d love love love to know the brand of Rebekah’s linen skirt that I asked her about! :)
-Shannon
Please make more videos with these lovely mentors!!
This chick is fabulous!!!
so sweet and true nature rules and always wins
touche'
Really enjoyed the video! Great People!
Love this family! ❤
Wow, look at the pipes on that lady. Impressive!
We have a problem that big ranchers want grass and spray herbeside these fields have things that bring in the good insects by having a place to lay eggs. I like how she thinks.
Ol hand tools keep ya young! That’s my thinking. Keeps ya moving and working out. Most people don’t have the discipline to do it. That’s how I clear my gardens and most of my yard is by hand. No need for large mowers/tractors and all that comes with them. Unless your lazy.
She's a Beast.....
Love that! “I am never going to win.”
Wonder how many snakes they see in that tall grass!
Great video! I will never win! Brilliant! 🌱🌱
Forefathers knew how to, just fine!
No she doesn't need a gym at all just look at her arms
Hi...... Justin Rhodes love watching your videos I really enjoy, thank you for showing your video homestead chickens duck goose farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐣🐥🐩🐕🐈🐑🐄🐖🐇🌱🌺🌹🌻🌼🌸🌷🏡🎥👍👍👍
Looking back on older video and I found that by reading up on chronic Lyme Disease the best diet is the Mediterranean Diet
or tesla healing coils (the real Nikola Tesla)
her muscle in her arms is amazing.
Food for thought 🌱 🐄🦉
I like how she speaks (No hold back straight forward with a respectable thought after she speaks.) Yes we live healthier under a roof and closed in walls caveman day people only lived till mid 20-30 if I remember correctly. Life expectancy!
Amen 🤗👍❤
Do you know of a company where you could buy a very well built scythe, most of the time on Amazon they are cheap and break easily! I read your new book and love it more every day! Thanks for your help!
This was so good and too short!!
LOVE that woman!!!!!! YES - I will never win!!
\
Her arms are impressive
I don’t think it’s not that we shouldn’t be drinking milk, it’s more like we should be expecting to have milk on our breakfast tables if we’re not milking it. I haven’t had cows milk in over 3 years, I’m mostly vegan, but I do have eggs and harvest chickens and support our local goats cheese makers, as it is the most sustainable for the climate in southern Portugal.
Oh I love Portugal so beautiful!
Love this!!!
The river knows where it is going, Stop trying to fight what you cannot win. Sit back, enjoy the sky and let the river take you where you need to go.
Yesss 🌿💚🌿
Look at the muscles 💪 on that lady
Cows the best lawn mowers ❤ ❤
I've been thinking a ram pump up to a gravity tank in the ping paddock would be awesome for you to not haul water around. Keep on keeping on man!
love this
What a Woman!!!
I would love to hear more from that knowledgeable woman. Does she have a blog, Chanel, page somewhere?
Thanks for the kind words. We don't do much online, but we do have a wordpress site, onecowrevolution, and a book published by Chelsea Green Publishing: The Independent Farmstead, and we write for various magazines. Hope you find us!
@@bethdougherty4014 I will look into all of the above. Thank you so much for your reply.
Jeff who in Australia? I missed the name.
I love their way of farming.

How were there not Ticks in that tall grass.
Ticks are normally only bad in the cool, wet spring in areas like that.
That lady's buff...
My theory on humans consuming milk is Biblical. Yah told Moses to take the Children of Israel to a land 'Flowing with milk and honey'. Therefore, Milk and Honey are GOOD!
Who was your permaculture teacher from Australia?
I missed it too

I'm going to need to learn more about using a scyth... where do I get one and what makes a good one?

U mentioned a guy called Jeff from Australia dose he have a book ?
Geoff Lawton, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoff_Lawton
Do they you tube? Not seeing a link of theirs.
They don't but if you search their names there are a number of interviews with other homesteaders. They also have a book.
Hi Rhodes family...
Baby looks like mr brown

JUstin I spoke too you about ram pumps several times but apparently you don't review your posts
I don’t catch them all. But still it was cool to see it in person.
