    The detect pro docking depends on the base being in the exact same place it was when you mapped the room. You can see at 3:16 in the video the dock is in a different location, a few inches to the right of where it is when it tried to dock at the end of the cleaning. At the end, the robot lines up a few inches too far to the right. This is the problem. Move the dock to the same position when you did the initial mapping and it will dock every time. I moved mine a few inches thinking it wouldn’t matter and had the same failure to dock as you. I moved it back and it docks every time.

    I've had my detect Pro for 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it. I call it my hair cleaner because of my furry animal zoo and it does an amazing job keeping up with all the shedding including the one room I have Carpet Inn

    They dock better on hard floors. Keep in mind the huge improvements they've made in the last few years. Great technology.

    Maybe you could try putting both the docks in hard floor. If you put one in carpet and other in hard floor, the docking maybe will be more difficult for the one in the carpet.

    As you can see from your own video, the brush isn’t supposed to work on carpet….it wouldn’t do anything and would stress out the small motor for no reason and so the robot is sensing this and stops the brush…but when it gets back on the hard floor is starts working again. This is purposeful and a smart feature.

      Additionally, my much older shark auto empty came with a Matt for putting the dock on carpet. Not sure if the new ones do but it won’t dock efficiently on carpet without one.

    I hate say it, but they both sound like thrashing machines. My Roborock S6 Pure all you hear is the vacuum

    Every other testing I have seen on the SHARK MATRIX has said it's junk.. and sooo not worth the money.. We need to see some good tests where NOT every link for it is to AMAZON for kickbacks....

    I have a shark matrix. With laminated floors. I never had a problem. Carpet seems to make it harder to move.

    love our shark docks every time with no issues. I can not disagree more with you it has been the best robot vac we have had and we have had many from 1200-dollar ones to cheap 400-dollar ones.

    Both of mine, sometimes have Trouble docking. No idea why. They’ve been fine recently though. I am waiting for the price to come down on the Roomba. Once that happens, I’ll be going with those.

    What about the sound, my dog hates the regular vacuum and hides- do you think they are a lot quieter?

    I have a Shark Detect Pro and it is the best so far. Very reliable. I have a Dreame and it is second rate compared to shark. Irobot of mine is also a sub level compared to the shark. You just lack knowledge.

    Carpet floor is harder to dock.
    Hard floor is easier for the robot to dock.

    So the mapping still hasn't approved in the detect version. It's still like the AI in matrix map with that type of vacuum that has the front sensor and the laser. I would expect better mapping because it's got two sensors now. It's relying on and not just the lidar but apparently not. These maps on these sharks look like kids drew the map and then you get the hit and miss either. It's going to add a wall where the wall's supposed to be or it's not going to add a wall there. So you got to figure out. Is that the pantry or the living room?

    How was the phone app setup ? Do these 2 models need to disable 5GHz antenna on the router? Does it need firewall hole be poked in the router config ? Can it avoid pieces of furniture like armchair table stand with metal frame at the floor base of 2" height? Does it support google home voice control?

    I had a question about the AI in these models. Not sure if you actually mentioned this elsewhere but how long have you ran the vacuum, I'm assuming the detection and all that would get better the more you use it? idk. just curious

    Shark's robot vacuums are so far behind the competition it's crazy. Always being rushed out with new names/branding/marketing speak but barely any innovation in regard to the stuff people care about. No one cares about a scent cartridge. People care about object detection!

    • @mhc121
      @mhc121 8 месяцев назад +2

      I think you hit the nail on the head. They care more about marketing and selling than the quality of their products. That should show you what type of company they are. I would avoid most shark products if possible.

    • @Browncoatful
      @Browncoatful 7 месяцев назад +4

      TBF, most of the time their products are on sale and cost far less than others. If say the Roborock Q5+ and the Shark AI Ultra are the same price, then without a question the Roborock is the better choice. But when with sales a lot of those Shark Vacums become more of budget options. As well, not everyone cares and needs all the features other vacuums come with so a Shark robot can be a solid option if you get it at that lower price and it matches what you need. Hell, some people are just fine with a robot that just bumps around the room so it all depends on what your needs are.

    Would you manually vacuum your house with fake dog poop and coffee cups on the floor? Why would you expect a robot vacuum to do that? Before vacuuming, I always pick up things .

    • @Garrison64
      @Garrison64 6 месяцев назад +3

      I think the point of these is that you can schedule them to vacuum and not have to be there when they do their job. Therefore it’s kind of important that they are able to avoid certain things and not get stuck, damage themselves, or make a big mess. If you have to babysit them it kind of defeats part of their appeal.
