Brilliant! Thanks for uploading. Arthur lowe was such a master of different verbal and visual comedy styles. The rest of the cast are so strong too. Though the synchronised fall the matron and miss coombes did in the corridor, was extra funny precisely because it was so badly executed! They were both great on the verbal comedy, but few could do visual comedy or play drunks like Arthur. What's extra nice is, I read somewhere that he really enjoyed doing it, rather than being a clown who really wants to play the lead man or tragedy or whatever.
My father would have been of the age to attend as the series was set during Hitler's War. Daddy was born in late November 1932, so one of the youthful generation pictured here!
Captain Main-wearing and the pressures of pedagogy. Especially with She who must be obeyed Matron Hilda Rumpole. What would the Bar Council and Swallow Bank think of these shenanigans?
Great little series. I enjoyed it . Thanks for uploading it Archiveking

Arthur at his best
surely its impossible to calculate the cost of wall papering a room without knowing its height
