Ken Jones also played a prisoner in the serious play Three Clear Days with Rita Webb, George Sewell and many other familiar faces, about the death penalty. On youtube too.

Interesting to see this completely forgotten prototype of 'Porridge'. Kenneth Williams observations on Porridge are interesting, in his diary he writes that he was appalled by the idea of setting a comedy in a prison, calling it 'ghastly, tasteless, sickening & disgusting'.

I love how he dumped the used tea leaves over the prisoner who was hiding in the dust bin. I thought that there was tea bags in 1968
My parents only bought loose leaf tea till the 2000's...
Tea bags have been around since 1903. But even today, some people prefer to brew from loose tea.

Yes, apparently only for the second series, the first series the governor was played by Wensley Pithey apparently.
