There is a 5 min interview with Solar from just after she released her "Face" EP. Where she answers the interview questions as herself (Kim Yongsun) and then her stage persona (Solar). In the later part of the interview Solar describes Yongsun as lazy. :D I feel like it's an interesting insight into how much she pushes herself to perform/succeed.
It’s also kinda interesting to see if there’s actually any disconnect between “solar” and Kim Yongsun, I wonder for celebrities and idols in specific how often they actually feel like their stage persona has become the main persona instead of their real identity, does that make sense? Or am I just babbling lol 😂
@@SylverReacts it does make sense. A sort of "has stardom really changed them as a person" it would be interesting to find out. I have to imagine it has in some way.
Spit it out is in the dark pop + latin pop genre. The heavy bass and percussion really help bring out the gorgeous quality of her low register. I personally love her low register and would love to hear more of it. She's a perfectionist, our Mamamoo leader. I feel like she takes the longest to put out music out of all of them. This was just a single, and her first mini album didn't come until 2022 (which was absolutely amazing, btw, you'll see when you get there). I love how her solo stuff is just her experimenting on different sounds and flexing skills other than her powerful belts. Like she said, she'll do what she wants! She's a bit slower than the other girls in picking stuff up, because unlike them, she decided on pursuing music as a career a whole lot later than the others(she went to university for a while). So they have a bit more training than her, but she does make up for it in pure talent, sheer will, and hard work.
Solar’s absolutely amazing, she’s what I call a genius of hard work, she might not pick things up as quickly, but she easily makes up for it and then some with pure willpower and effort. That is not an easy thing to do consistently!

Spanish speakers liked the beat then flipped out when they heard the sin prisa pero sin pausa line. It translates as "slow and steady", since the translation video didn't. Solar won a music show with this once, I think on her last show of promotions, so Hwasa isn't the only member that did it as a soloist. Solar was eating cherries on Solarsido and whenever she had to spit out a seed... the editors understood the assignment.
@@SylverReacts Solar yes got her win on the last day! (1 week promo only) It made her the first GG member getting the fastest solo win from debut (5 days). Mind you, it was back in 2020, so 5 days was really fast, since the song came out on 24 April (Thursday), and the award show The Show that she won was on Tuesday (28 April). Currently, MAMAMOO, as OT4 and as soloists, only perform and participate on 4 mushows (Thursday till Sunday) and only for 1 week, so it seems that it'll be harder for them to get mushow awards now since you'd need to perform and attend many of these shows to qualify as finalists.
While Solar was doing the rounds of promoting 'Spit It Out', (if I got this part right) she was the first interviewee for when Showterview started, so she would have been Jessi's first victim...I mean, interview... Kidding aside, Jessi is really cool. She was born in New York and raised in New Jersey and she moved to Korea when she was fifteen. She was late learning Korean and looked down on as a Foreigner who wanted to get in on a deal, rather than serious about Music. She faced a LOT of hurdles in Korea just for existing. Being Born-And-Raised American, she's as un-apologetically, authentically herself as anybody from Mamamoo and she has even less of a filter than the Moos. That interview between Jessi and Solar was GREAT! Solar also came back on Showterview when she was doing the rounds for 'Honey', which was a couple years later (which may have even been Jessi's last interview on the show, she was replaced by Sunmi).

Itzy was funny without trying, they helped with the comedy just by existing as themselves. I can't remember if Dreamcatcher ever appeared on Showterview but if so, that would have been THE ULTIMATE CHAOS in interviews... Jessi also interviewed boy groups, obviously. ALWAYS entertaining no matter which video you click on.

I believe in ine interview solar said that she belts all the time in mamamoo songs, so wants to showcase different things with her solos (and i really can't wait until you get to the first song she ever wrote and composed, which made it as a b-side on 'face', the album for "honey")
Jessi's showterview was a great show overall, but i definitely suggest checking out both of her interviews with solar and the one with hwasa. She's already adopted half of mamamoo, now It is too bad she left the show for health reasons. Her more american take on things and personality in general clashes so much with most things korean and just... the way she manages to stunlock her guests just by being herself is great (and the way the director is constantly laughing except when he and jessi are bickering)
