Can a FREE plugin sound like my Mesa Boogie Trem-O-Verb Dual Rectifier 2x12 combo?!
In this video I see if the Lecto plugin from Poulin can sound like my Mesa Trem-O-Verb. The start of the video shows how I plan to compare the 2 amps and what my signal chain is - I recommend watching this first before diving into the riffs so that you have some context 😁

Dude privilege sounds insanely on point, obviously it’s hard to tell completely because I’m listening though my phone but the mesa boogie beats the emulator for sure

The Tremoverb on vintage high gain on the orange channel gets so close to that privilege intro tone - getting the absolute right pickups and mic on the right cab used to record the album would be the icing on the cake! The plugin couldn’t quite capture it but that may just be how the 3 channel dial recs are on the vintage mode and it may do a great job replicating that tone 😅🤷🏻‍♂️. Still pretty different to my amp but with some more tweaking it may get closer. Not bad at all for free!

I’ve used it on a ton of things - I like having it first in my chain these days to kind of alter the tone of my pickups before it hits the amp. Put in an effects loop, it can completely change the sound of an amp too so you can make a single channel amp sound very different! Have a look at the some others too as an overall level control can be really helpful too, like the boss ge pedal 👍🏻

I tried to download the plugin but when I entered the link and downloaded the folder, I opened the folder and it does nothing, I don't know if you can explain to me step by step to download and install it correctly. thank you.

I’m not too sure I’m afraid. It should be straight forward to install. All I can suggest is that you download the correct file for your operating system and then open the installer - should work fine from there.
If it has installed, have you tried finding it in your DAW? You may need to refresh your VST list in order to see it?

😁 orange channel on Raw mode with the gain backed off just a bit. Will depend on your pickups I guess - mine aren’t super hot in this video so that may help too 👍🏻
