After music, news, and podcasts, reminders are this thing I use my HomePod for the most. Super helpful! You can also bring up live radio just by asking Siri to play the radio stations call letters ors.
Reminders are a big use case for us. I just wish the reminders could be announced on the HomePods like they are with the Echo devices. As a workaround I use named alarms that gets the job done but actual reminders would be better. And I like the option Alexa has to repeat the reminder every hour until you mark it cleared.
Craig, we love your videos, content, and the Apple ecosystem. Have you figured out yet how many HomePods you can stream to at once, is there a limit? Thanks. See you Saturday for the live feed. 😊
I wish the intercom feature could go to a specific device, rather than to all devices. I like the echo drop in feature because you can filter to just one device. I have a mix of mostly google devices ( home mini, home hub, nest hub max) and a couple homepod minis. Mostly just use the HomePod minis as speakers for my Apple TV 📺
Just tell Siri to intercom to the specific room. “hey, Siri, intercom the kitchen…” Also in the Home app, if you hit the intercom button in the specific room, it will only intercom to that room
Every single video clip I’ve seen showing Handoff, you practically have to tap the HomePod for the music to transfer. In use however, the Handoff feature is way too sensitive! I’ve turned off this feature because I have a HomePod Mini on my desk, and my phone is like 2 or 3 feet away but it tries to connect every time I lift up my phone! I did find a workaround though! I have an nfc tag on my desk that runs a shortcut. Tapping it transfers the audio to the HomePod… just like the feature is demonstrated to actually work.
Hi there, I have an issue with just saying "Hey Siri" to my Homepod with multiple devices around me. Like asking the homepod to play me a song and it ends up playing a song on my phone. Is there like a quick fix to this issue? What do you guys recommed that i need to do?
Is it possible to have a conversation through homepod, with people who could be nearby, without having to call them? Say I am at work and no one answers their phones, I’d like to try to talk through homepod, and listen in, and whoever is nearby could answer directly. This is possible with Amazon Echo.
The smaller the size of the speaker, the higher the design and technical requirements will be, otherwise it will be difficult to achieve stunning sound quality.
Man, just got the nanoleaf bulbs to try as my Orein bulbs just stopped working, and i can not get it to work with homekit. Got the nanoleaf essentials bulbs, will not connect to homekit. I take that back, it will, but it wont respond. I notice it does not go into my wifi router, but when installed the nanoleaf app, then it worked, and even "connecting" the matter to homekit, the bulb still didnt work. kinda sad. The Meross bulbs i got work and were easy to setup with no extra app.
I am sorry to hear that Ken. That is not good. I haven’t ran into the same problem. But most of mine are the HomeKit version. If you don’t plan on using the lights with Alexa or Google, you can get the HomeKit only version. They will only connect to HomeKit over Thread. I like them because the can use Apples Adaptive lighting for white light. The matter version doesn’t support it. In my office, living room and garage use the HomeKit essentials bulb. I love how the white light comes on in the day in cool white. Then when turned on evening the light is warm white. The colors are a little brighter on the Matter version. I feel like Matter is more temperamental still compared to thread only or WiFi devices. Thanks for checking out the video.
@@CraigsTechTalk yeah. Got them from Amazon and they say it’s for HomeKit, Alexa and Samsung. I’ll maybe keep playing around with the ones I have just to see. Thanks for the reply and the help. Very appreciated!!!
Worth saying that Spotify wasn’t available originally to be added as a service as it was competing with Apple Music - but since then Apple made it possible due clients request, but Spotify stands the ground. Spotify is the way to go
I had a friend from high school crashing at my place for about five years. I freaked him out one day when I said “hi” through the intercom while I was at work. 😈😆
To me it got worst she don’t even hear me and you see it light up but nothing. Then I’m yelling and frustrated. With the control to my tv I say pause she pause when I say play she play music.

Very cool. Reminders are great and very helpful. Thanks for sharing the radio station tip.

EDC: iPhone 13 Pro, Apple Watch Ultra 2, Air Pod Pro 2, Orbit Key, Rovy Von Aurora A8 flash light, Coach slim wallet
they have very limited radio streaming connections the In U.K via Siri, otherwise it is quite good.
That’s a bummer. I was surprised how many there are in the US.

That is a good point. It is more work to have the size constraints.

The fact that I have to AirPlay my Spotify (or use Spotify on my Apple TV) to get it to play on my HomePods in 2024, is wild to me......
Worth saying that Spotify wasn’t available originally to be added as a service as it was competing with Apple Music - but since then Apple made it possible due clients request, but Spotify stands the ground. Spotify is the way to go

Amazon echo is still better in many ways.

Siri never knows when to respond on my homepod or iphone...
Apple fanboy here. HomeKit is great, but Siri… sigh. Damn it is useless and it’s not getting any better. Rather the opposite
I don’t think this is a new video
The video was recorded last Tuesday
