But you'll probably be surprised to learn that you may be drinking coffee made with beans that are really old -- maybe 8 or 9 years old, some as old as a decade. In airplanes the water therr can cause diseases. Even heating the water could not kill the bacteria. So thats why the water taste horrible. And its best to stay with bottled water.

Had something similar with Ice Tea. Every Once an a while I would have Ice Tea that was really bad. I was working at a place, where my manager wanted to serve ice tea to guest so he brought in a vender that had a tea from concentrate. It was a thick liquid that you mixed with water and it tasted just like the bad tea a some of the rest stops and other places I had gotten tea. I told my manager this he still served it, we got a lot of complaints. He later switched to leaf tea that was brewed, not the best tea but not bad, no more complaints.
