- Fifty-two House Democrats joined all Republicans Thursday to repeal Washington, DC's law allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections.
The number of Democrats voting for the measure, H.R. 192, was 10 more compared to how many voted for a similar measure last year.
"Why is it in our country, the only one dumb enough to offer incentive after incentive after incentive to the millions of illegal immigrants pouring over our border every single year?" Rep. Jeff Van, R-N.J., questioned during a floor speech.

A better question might be, "What GOOD reason would any legal resident or citizen want for non-U.S. citizens to vote in U.S. Elections?"

Should not be a controversy. Citizens have the right to vote under our constitution. Non citizens have no constitutional protection.
