- Out of all the albums in her discography I listened to... I found my fav guys!!! Yupp this is the one that puts her above and beyond for me. Whether it is her features or her exact flow and production on this album, just the entire vibe and sound on this album, this has that it factor where I'm just in love. 2020 has discovered a ton of crazy and super talented artists I have been missing out on and boy, this is top tier. Don't get me started on the featured song by The Weeknd...

a GREAT underrated album
PERIOD
it makes me angry how much this album is underrated, a lot of her fans just don't like it and i will never understand that
this was definitely a turning point at her career & discography
the mix between the seeking for love, self-love, happiness and hope creates a transcendental experience for the listeners
her writing is beyond magical and poetic
songs like 13 beaches, cherry & heroine are the most hyped by old stans
her fans who enjoyed an experimental sound also can find great tracks in this
there's a lot of confusion and inconsistency in the production and melodies throughout the album, which links to the lyrics and give the feeling of a person who's having too much thoughts and opinions battling each other
the features are amazing and there's a track for every taste
her voice fits within every genre and her performance on these songs are mesmerizing
and the fact that she used her platform to speak up about political issues doesn't need to much explanation; she's a queen
anyways, this is AN ALBUM guys
stop ranking her work and be there to support her upcoming project
LFL made me a stan too so it will forever be my favorite! Also it’s the only album out of her entire discography I play very often 💯
I don’t understand the hate this album receives tbh, especially from her fans.
The incessant ranking and comparing of albums and songs among fans is something that drives me insane.

can we all take a moment to appreciate how on ride she says “been trying hard not to get into trouble but i’ve got a war in my mind” then on get free, 5 years later, she says “sometimes it feels like i’ve got a war in my mind, i wanna get off but i keep RIDING THE RIDE” cause i’m really not okay
And then in California from NFR she says "I heard the war was over if you really choose, the one in and around you" (the war inside her) 😭

Producer Rick Nowels told Genius the story of the song:
"'Change' really touches me. We were mastering the album and had to turn it into the label the next day. Lana called me that afternoon and said that she had one more statement to make for the album and that she wanted to record a new song that night. That song turned out to be 'Change'.
We started it at 8 p.m. and by 2 a.m. the record was done. We knew it could only be a voice/piano song because that was all the time we had. I think it's a gem on the album."

Lana have another really cool song with ASAP called Ridin’, you should check that latter cause it’s not in any of her albums!
if you didn't know, Lana and Abel are great friends, he was supporting her even before people knew her name, i think they have been friends for ever a decade now, in interview abel said that lana is a woman in his music and he is a man in her music, he even said that she's one of his closest friend in the industry, also since lana never did many collaborations, he told her, that if she would ever wanted a collaboration with someone, he wanted to be first one and here we go with LFL. they have also done prisoner (song from beauty behind the madness) stargirl interlude, party monster (from starboy) and there's a leaked version of money power glory (from ultraviolence) featuring abel.

Fun fact, in the live version of "Get Free" she actually sings: For Amy and for Whitney and all my birds of paradise....they deleted that part if you listen to it she actually replaced the names with "shh". Her record label thought it would be too "problematic" if she mentioned them in the record, so she does it in her concerts.

Omg I love this album, I don't know why it isn't a fan favourite! It has some of her best solo songs for sure, I was trying to list my faves and there were too many. I love the collabs too. Lust for Life is a beautiful song, Abel and Lana's voices work beautifully together. Speaking of The Weeknd, lyrics to his collab with Ariana "Off the Table" have leaked on twitter and people are wondering if his verse is about wanting Selena back! Very excited to hear that one, "Love Me Harder" is fantastic.
This and Ultraviolence are my favorite Lana albums.

Change is kind of a conclusion cause it's the last song she has recorded for LFL! That's why its production isn't rich as the others cause she practically wrote it the night before they had to master the whole album 😄

Change is placed after heroine because its like the getting away from the addiction and its followed with get free which is related to change saying out of the black into the blue
Now that you mention it I think Change could've been a great opening track. But it was a last-minute addition so she probably didn't think of that. I love that song though

Could you react to ZZ Ward? She's an alternative artist who combines blues and hip hop. She has worked with Kendrick Lamar and her lyrical content is similar to that of Lana Del Rey. ZZ's also got a very distinct and unique voice that I think you'll really like 🤗

something you didn't realize is that the album is separated into two parts: Lust and Life. Lust talks about love, desire, having fun and Life addresses bigger world issues.
Coachella Woodstock in my mind is about Lana dancing at Coachella but thinking about the tensions with North Korea. God bless America was written as an anthem in support of the protests about women's rights. When the world was at war we kept dancing is a general comment on today's society and states that we've overcome similar issues in the past and we can do it again. Beautiful People Beautiful Problems suggests that we all have problems that burden us and make our life difficult but it's a reminder that problems are part of the human experience and we are not alone. Tomorrow never came tells a story of two estranged lovers who hope to reunite, though the lyrics indicate that a future together is unlikely as an indication of the future's unpredictability. Heroin is about the struggles of fame; Lana uses the idea of heroin as a metaphor for fame itself and the impact it can have on one's life. In Change Lana talks about how change is necessary for this world. And finally, Get Free is literary Lana stating that this album is the equivalent of a manifesto. She wants to sing about feelings and love but she also feels the urge to use her platform to comment on the problems of today's society in order to bring change.
I'm sorry but you skipping over Heroin like that is a tragedy, the song's content is so heavy but it's juxtaposed with a really airy sound, beautiful combination and the song just guts me every time with her singing about a friend dying to a heroin overdose (possibly a throwback to "dark paradise") then confessing that she has relapsed herself even though she wants to change.
