Thank you for saying calories matter! So many others ignore this. I personally love tracking my calories, it's never been easier with all the apps we have available at our fingertips. And it teaches me so much about what's in food in general.
@@georgianawickenden563 I use My Fitness Pal, it's very user friendly and I'm amazed by how many foods they have in their database. You can use the barcode to scan in almost everything.
Very sensible and informative video. We really need the clarfications you’ve made here. Thank you! Dr McDougall said in one of the interviews that he regrets writing his maximal weight loss program book. I understand why. Yes it’s true that starches have different caloric density. The potatos are one of the lowest and though they may rise the insuline, so do all the foods we eat. It is a healthy response. Again well explained by Dr McDougall in his interview/lecture about potatos. By and large, wet starches are having lower calory density than the dry so they are to be prefered. It is also true that some youtubers plates look far off a healthy or compatible with a sustainable way of eating. They look more like crash diets than a life style.
I think your problem with the simplicity of the concept is actually the strength of the concept. It is simple. People can follow simple. I think that's why it's so popular - it's so easy to do! I love how you dig deeper into the inter-food group tweaking which I see as the 'next step' in learning curve of a WFPBNO eater/weight reducer. Stay cheeky!
Very good point. I am going to start tracking to see where I fall into the weight loss . Like corn and white rice both starches but not great cuz corn is a starch but has no value right like white rice ??? I will check out your videos ty ..... very informative...
Thank you Ryan!! Excellent point. So much to learn and adapt to being new to the Vegan foods. I totally agree falling into a security of just doing 50/50 without growing in understanding the foods that work can keep you from expanding further with weight loss and enjoying good foods. I appreciate you Ryan!! :)
4th day on my plant based diet, I use intermittent fasting (it helps to stop my cravings) and struggling to eat enough. Going to watch a few more of your videos.
Yes i agree. I often do 60 40. It’s all about me being full so that I don’t run for chips or chocolate or bingeing. I also exercise allot and enjoying doing the variety...yoga weights cycling. The fats and Reagan’s are the big thing.... thanks so much.

Thanks for sharing Sandra, I think 60:40 is a lot more appropriate as a rule of thumb for many people!
