Hi Maggie and Zac, Pitbulls are actually very loving dogs and your are right, it is how they are raised. Any breed of dog or any type of animal for that matter can be turned bad with the way they are raised. Your dogs are all great and part of the family. My wife and I have rescued 3 dogs and 2 cats. One of our cats was raised by our dogs since she was 4 weeks old, so she thinks she is a dog. She only plays with dogs, not cats.
Great story. We have had 3 wire fox terriers. We lost our girl at 14.5 to a stroke. It was the hardest thing ever. We lost our second to testicular cancer. It was so sad. We spent $9K trying to save our baby. We currently have the sweetest boy ever. We never had kids. The pups are definitely our extended family. We love them so much. Dogs are such amazing companions and their unconditional love is the greatest. You two are adorable dog parents. I basically agree about the nature vs nurture aspect. However, some pups do seem to have a special something from birth. We are grateful for all the loving and quirky things about all of them 💗
Loved learning about your dogs. I adopted a dog I saw on Facebook. Someone had thrown her out in the middle of the country. She made her way to a house that had dogs and the people were feeding her, but they already had 4 dogs. I saw the post on FB and messaged the lady that I would love to have her. She was about 6-8 months old. When I saw her picture, I knew she was my dog, no two ways about it. The lady messaged me back and said another lady had offered to take her, but she would ask the lady if she could give her to me. I told her if I got her that I was going to name her Daisy. There was a pause in the conversation for about 5 minutes and then she texted back that I could have her. She said it must be meant to be because she had been calling her Daisy. I was so happy as I had to have my very elderly dog put to sleep the month before. The lady brought her to me and it was love at first sight for the both of us. She is so smart and loves everyone and everyone loves her. People will say, if you ever want to get rid of her, that they will take her. I won't ever get rid of her. She's my baby now and is so spoiled.lol
Already had tremendous respect for you guys and all you've been through. But after this video, I am even more convinced you truly are saints. (Full disclosure....I do love dogs far better than people...).
Ontario. However we have two pitties that are the most loving dogs and live in Ontario. I love your pups and really enjoyed this video. Thank God there are kind hearted people like you to take care of these beautiful babies.
Thank you so much for sharing that video with us. I so enjoyed watching it. I also have 2 Yorkies, one of them is a rescue, they just rule the hoyse, but I love every min or f it.
My cat follows me into the bathroom. It's hard losing a pet. I got my first cat when I was 10, and she lived to be 18. I cried like a baby when she died because I grew up in an abusive home, and I felt like she was the only one I could talk to about it. She was definitely my cat
I am mostly a cat person as well, but I have a giant dog lol. I have 9 cats and love them all. My cat who is almost 11 she comes to the bathroom with me, sleeps with me, all the things.
We've had two Dixie Dogs and Two Daisy Cats! When we rescued our last dog, Jake, they told us at the shelter that he would likely be around 60 lbs and we said, well that's a little small for us (we are used to German Shepherd Dogs), Jake ended up weighing 130 lbs. He passed 14 months ago and we still are not ready to fall in love with another one. He was 130 lbs of pure sugar.
Pit bulls are extremely sensitive, protective and loyal, so however they start out as far as their interaction with people will decide their temperament. They are extremely strong, have a strong bite, one of the highest thresholds of pain tolerance compared to most all breeds, so with those attributes are attractive for dog fighters. I had a rescue pit from a dog fighting ring. I know this because someone witnessed the owner trying get her to be aggressive and she wasn’t and they went as far as trying to get her to be aggressive by using her puppies to cause that. While this guy was doing this, a neighbor was watching and called the cops, they show up when he tied her up to let other dogs go at her to build their confidence before fights. I got her she was malnourished and mangled. I slowly assessed her personality, before turning her loose in my house, being I had a 2 year old, but it wasn’t long before she was sleeping with me or the kids, she lived to be 14 yrs old the best most loving and tolerant dog of many toddlers we ever had. She died an old lady in bed as we all laid by her side watched her take her last breath. We knew her time was coming she started showing health issues and she would be have seizures and that morning my husband was just about to head to work and she had a seizure, normally the would happen for a minute and then she would snap out of it and be normal, but that day, while she was seizing I told my husband put her on the bed, I said wait here and I got the boys, my husband thought I was over reacting, I said no this is it, she not coming back from this, so we all just pet her and told we loved her and then her mouth opened and the biggest gust of wind came out, which we knew it was her soul, it did a tornado around us and I’ll never forget that, because it was like she went through me, I smelt her and felt her. It was sad, but happy she was in pain from her hip dysplasia and couldn’t hear or see very well, but for her to die with us in her favorite place with her favorite people she went in peace and she let us know. She was amazing!!!
My parents were mad when I got a pitt. Then fell in love with her. She was my baby and sadly passed at home this summer. I have a mother pitt mix and he’s the sweetest dumb dog ever lol. My great grandma hated dogs and or dogs on her. Well I had a beshion at the time. She came to visit and got really sick. My dog (wags) stayed by her feet and knew when she was about to vomit and would run to my mom barking. After that wags could visit her anytime at my grandmas (like go in her room and sit on her lay while she watched tv. She said he was smart and loved her. But hated my cousins dogs cause they were dumb lol. It’s funny how friends and family fall for some dogs and not others. Totally believe animals are here to help us live a better life.
I have 6 indoor dogs and live on a farm. We love them all like they are our children. So we understand what you have. The more the merrier is my motto. Enjoy 🐶🐶🐶🐶
We had a Holly too. She was a beautiful Samoyed that was born just after Christmas so we named her Holly. She was just 2 days shy of her 14th birthday when we had to put her down. That was 2 years ago and we still miss her. ❤️❄️❤️
Thanks sharing the story of each of your dogs. I loved hearing about each of them. And of course, thanks for rescuing.... The only way to go, IMO. My first dog was a beagle/Jack russell mix and looked very much like your Dixie. She was the love of my life, my bff for sure! I miss her terribly.
I found my labrador in a fb group. I saw his picture and knew he belonged to me 🥰. He was only 5 weeks old when I picked him up, which I wasn't happy about, but it was the only way I could get him. He was going to be my service dog, but my health turned as I needed to start public access training with him, and he started barking at everything. He's now a task trained ESA. I would love to get another dog as a playmate for him, but I live with my mom, who has dementia, so right now, that's not a doable thing.
Ok this might just be my favorite vlog in a long time! I love furbabies, cats are my favorite but I do have a giant dog he is lab and Rhodesian ridgeback. But he is a total chicken
Holly sounds so much like my dog Rusty. I rescued him from the humane society at 10months and he was completely fearful of all men and even more muscular women, like my mom is just built strong and he was terrified of her. He is scared of strangers and very wary of men still. He is ok with my dad but that’s basically it. But he is the sweetest boy ever.
My in laws foster senior golden retrievers and they had a dog get out of the garage because my husband forgot to close the garage door. Tanner ran all the way to Pyramid Liquor on Littleton Blvd and he actually stayed there until the owner of the store called my mother in law. They also have had a couple of dogs from Turkey.
I've found that Pitties have scary-looking exteriors, but tender, loving hearts. Just let them get a good sniff of you, and you should be fine. Dogs can tell what kind of person you are. I must be pretty OK, because I have never had a dog dislike me, I usually get kisses within a minute.
Im like you. I love dogs and want to save them . We have had 8 dogs in last 30 yrs. ( 2) right now. Only got 2 as puppies but from a family dog litter. $50 each..

Your pups are gorgeous. So sweet. Thanks for sharing.

Miss my Great White Pyrenees. A gentle giant. I’m now living vicariously thru your (our!) pups.

Hi Maggie.and Zak❤ thank you for giving them a loving home
Thank you for sharing. I loved hearing how each pup came into your lives. Stay safe out there! 🥰❄️❤️
Would love to see zak do a fish aquarium video!
We had a cat with kidney disease. We did infusions that the vet said would go 12 to 18 months. She lived 6 years before passing.
Awww love all your puppies!
Pets ask for so little and they give everything. It's so heartbreaking to lose a pet.

Enjoyed your “pup” video so much!!! I love dogs too and your story was so special ♥️
It was so nice to hear about your fur babies. We see them around all the time but never heard their stories before.

Dogs are so loving.
Big, beautiful family! Sorry about Daisy. That’s the hardest part of loving a pet. I’m a cat person but dogs are great. I watch a lot of dog videos!

I love the Dogs 🐕 ❤️

Bruno, lol! 😅🤣😆 Never meets a stranger, does he, ha ha.
I love when dogs end up having nicknames that somehow evolve from but are not at all like their name.
❤
Exactly my reaction when dogs come through my drive through lol
Im like you. I love dogs and want to save them . We have had 8 dogs in last 30 yrs. ( 2) right now. Only got 2 as puppies but from a family dog litter. $50 each..
All our dogs we got were from friends of family ( that needed to be rehomed) only one of them was from a stranger and one from pound. ❤❤❤😍😍😍
🐶❤️❤️❤️❣️
Thanks for rescuing. I’ve made a conscious decision to not follow anyone who has bought a dog from a breeder. It’s just so morally and ethically wrong
Ginger snap cookies help settle the dogs stomach for car rides
Sorry about Daisy. I know what it’s like to lose a pup. I think I once confused Daisy with Dixie. Sorry.
Don't be sorry! I'm glad Dixie reminds everyone of Daisy!
what breed of dogs are they
