Most people if the haven't already are finally realising we need people like Trump and Musk running the UK!
I think so too
If we didn’t have independent broadcasts like this channel we would be left in the dark and fed nonsense
Yep...they like to treat us like mushrooms!🍄👍🏻
There are over 3,000 operational coal fired power stations in China. If only we had 5 of them in the UK, energy prices would be a quarter of what consumers pay today
Yes, but 60% of those coal powered are only running at 40% of capacity according to WHO that monitors emissions. It’s part of China’s international policies. Keeping poor regions from collapsing.
Musk is now a minority shareholder of the Tesla car company. His main focus is battery storage. Tesla ate building the Worlds biggest battery storage system in Saudi Arabia. A country awash with oil . Ask yourself why are they doing this?
B b b b but muh climate conspiracy theory.
Would that 5 be burning Polish coal like recently or tap into the large resources under Britain that were burned before Old Mother Thatcher shut down the mining.
@russcattell955i The Blair Government closed more mines.
@
Coal miners were privatised in 1994
In 1994, then-Prime Minister John Major privatised British Coal after announcing 55 further closures, with the majority of operations transferred to the new company UK Coal.
By this time British Coal had closed all but the most economical of coal pits.
The pit closures reflected coal consumption slumping to the lowest rate in more than a century, further declining towards the end of the 1980s and into the 1990s. This coincided with initiatives for cleaner energy generation as power stations switched to gas and biomass. A total of 100 million tons was produced in 1986, but by 1995 the amount was around 50 million tons.
In 2001, production was exceeded by imports for the first time. In 2014, coal imported was three times more than the coal mined in Britain. In 2009, companies were licensed to extract 125 million tonnes of coal in operating underground mines and 42 million tonnes at opencast locations.
Coal mining employed 4,000 workers at 30 locations in 2013, extracting 13 million tonnes of coal.
The UK Coal mines achieved the most economical coal production in Europe, according to UK Coal, with a level of productivity of 3,200 tonnes per man year as of 2012, at which point there were 13 UK Coal deep mines.
The three deep-pit mines were Hatfield and Kellingley Collieries in Yorkshire and Thoresby in Nottinghamshire.
There were 26 opencast sites in 2014, mainly in Scotland. Around that time, most coal was used for electricity generation and steel-making. Its use for heating homes had already declined because of pollution concerns. The commodity was also used for fertilisers, chemicals, plastics, medicines and road surfaces.
Hatfield Colliery closed in June 2015, as did Thoresby, and in December 2015, Kellingley, bringing to an end deep coal mining in the UK. The occasion was marked by a rally and march attended by thousands of people. The closure of coal mines left the affected communities economically deprived, unable to recover even in the long run.

My father tells of the police visiting the local garage in the late 50's / early 60s every Friday afternoon to pick up a 'brown envelope' for recommending the garage to broken-down motorists...
One thing for sure, if you want to buy an EV manufactured by a UK company... you are out of luck.
Yep
@@BarrieCrampton I doubt Ariel are interested in making ev's
Nah, I'm still holding out for the Scalectrix set.....
Mighty Metros or the Cosworth sets would be ideal....... 😅
😂
Scalectric Metro Blowout was the best set, but TCR (Total Control Racing) allowed you to actually switch lanes and overtake.
@Guy-Gibsons-Dog You can switch lanes with the digital scalextric.
But yeah TCR was good back in the day. 👍
I was in London yesterday and saw three EV buses at adjacent stops. They were all Chinese BYD buses. I googled it and it seems the company has been in the UK for a few years now and are swapping out the Routemasters, but it’s only their cars which had caught my attention up till now.
M16 ( and BBC) warning that it would only take 16 buses to break down at the same time at pinch points ( eg bridges) to shut down the entire road network in London , China built vehicles are software controlled from China - Mayor /TFL are either dumb or infiltrated buying BYD buses , they need to be banned for same reasons China equipment not allowed in uk internet . The London electric buses used to be built in Scotland but BYD contract changed this
It all goes hand in hand with having an overwhelming sense of moral superiority.
NEW CAR TAX RULES cant wait to hear your thoughts on that one barrie
did you get the Worcester EV fire? Spontaneous combustion outside the house when not plugged in over night.
Will have a look thanks

In my humble opinion Musk is simply a character or "tool" used in the theatre of the public stage. If you look closely at his career he hasn't really done anything apart from be promoted as a "genius". He didnt found or have anything to do with teslas formation, he bought his way in. 2016 he announces "going to mars" which has been just a handful of years away, updated few years saying the same. The "hyperloop" (or monorail from the simpsons episode) he "created" which is literally impossible (the few bits of track built for the announcement now quietly dismantled), to "creating" a genius method of travel involving cars driving in an underground tunnel just wide enough for a car, didnt take off funnily.
Tesla sales have been falling off for some time but only first reported sales dropping last year (have you seen the massive csr parks full of pre registered ones visible from space), now the jig is up and sales can only fall as whoever was going to buy has done so. So this manufactured bit of media we have with "the salute" can be used as 1 part of the excuse for falling sales and "kickback" used by the state media machine. Yet they still want to continue pushing the EV fantasy so another (much worse, poorly made) fleet will be brought in to squeeze a bit more from the dying donkey.
Maybe a controversial opinion but we still have freedom of speech....right? 🤔😱😅
A fan of "he who should wear slippers"?
Totally agree, Musk is just a puppet doing what he’s told, probably a clone or cyborg. Who knows where the original one ended up
@@Fred-gu6pk Who would that be? Jesus? Ghandi? Jack duckworth? 🤔😂

I think i will stick with my 2014 e class rather than a chinese EV. £35 road tax, 45mpg and 322k miles and still going. Did you see the video from Jayemm on RUclips? A Chinese EV manufacturer was offering good money for promotion of their car
I am 53 and not tied to any party, over the years I have voted labour tory libdem and last time Reform.
I have never been that fussed whoever won, just got my head down and carried on earning money.
I can honestly say this is the first time in my life where I HATE our PM and his clueless party.
I am self employed and I have reduced the hours I work deliberately so they end up getting less tax off me. I know I am a tiny cog in a big wheel but every little helps to make this government fail.
They have done nothing but lie after promising "Honesty and integrity"
They will need that 3rd runway for all those flying pigs to land on from their fantasy promises they keep making.
"Growth" 😂
As for Brexit I have earned more since 2016 than in over 30 years of working, paid my mortgage off 16 years early, voting leave has been one of the best decisions in my life.
The EU is just a modern day way to trade cheap slave workers to other countries.
Snap
@@BarrieCrampton just added a bit on last comment about Brexit, it's been fantastic for me. I don't need people from other countries changing my nappy telling me how I should live my life. It's bad enough with our own useless tossers in power trying to ruin our lives and rape us of money to give to other countries.
Brexit gets blamed for everything, almost like people have magically forgotten COVID and what the Chinese did to us. It must really hurt that in Europe we have the fastest economy, which believe me, isn't saying much as Europe is in its arse.
All EVs are a hazard to their owners and other road users. You sit on a battery pack 17,000 times bigger than the one in your phone and inside a metal cage. Is there anyone that thinks this is a good idea?
Wake up to a real fire - buy a Tesla.
As you say Barrie would love to see the LOADED questionaire for this survey which is biased towards Chinese models. They obviously created it to promote them and must have been INCENTIVISED to do so.
The ones who don't like Elon are the ones who do like the little 'uns a lot.
We did actually in 2022/2023 build a space hub just outside Newquay Cornwall for launching rockets from under a 747 the rocket would be unmanned but holding a satellite 🛰️ the UK government along with Richard Branson and the Cornwall council sunk 21 million pounds into it then. Believe it or not they decided to launch it at night first and second launch were postponed due to the weather. On the 3rd time it launched the 747 took it up to 40 thousand feet launched the rocket from under the wing of the 747 ........that was the last they saw of it the rocket didn't go into orbit so the satellite was also LOST the 747 returned to the runway after all the hype before the launch they were going to do this and that the UK would be a leading satellite launching country ......Days later they CLOSED THE WHOLE SITE DOWN..... Brandsons 747 left the site and now it just sits there doing NOTHING WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY THAT WAS.........LOOK IT UP YOU WONT BELIEVE IT. .....That's probably where our money went for the Pensioners..
Still waiting for the Golf sized Tesla with proper driver display, stalks and knobs. It also needs to be fun to drive and affordable.
After the recent Huwawai scandal why would anybody trust Chinese controlable tech
Teslas are also made in China. The Gigafactory Shanghai produces the Model 3 and Model Y.
But subject to MUCH higher standards of quality control, unlike the Chinese system of fast, haphazard quality ‘control’
@@LuckySpeaks they have quality control?
@ you’re right, what was I thinking? 😝
@@sushiginger444none at all. If you don't put a tyre on in under 2 seconds you get a slap around the head. Chinese and quality just don't go together.

I just bought from China a no-name-brand analogue watch that looks the business but I won't mind wrecking when working on the car or doing home DIY jobs. Total cost $1.86 delivered!
I doubt that I could send a parcel of air to China for $1.86! The West is finished.
Your watch is probably finished too

How is that good for the environment? Owning a disposable watch.
CO2 reduction is just a front for moving manufacturing to more profitable countries.
It just shows how narrow minded humanity has become! Maybe the use of social media has made it worse.
Dear Barry, most Tesla's sold in Europe (and yes, Great Britain is part of Europe) are made in China. Sorry to break the news to you.
No Tesla in Europe has an apostrophe
Is there a country that taxes its citizens and sends some of it to the UK ?
Carbon dioxide neutral in about 8-10 years for a medium sized battery car compared to a same sized normal car. I'm running a 25 year old car. It's the best way if you care for the environment and use of natural resources. It will probably run for 5-10 more years.
I would go Yamaha for an EV. They produce simple basic EV's and can be fun if driven to the limit. Unfortunately that fun can get you banned from places where you hit a tiny white ball with a stick.
Surveyed a 1000 ppl...yeah....right. More choice of stuff not to buy.
The EV zealots are fighting each other now - those that support the chinese brands, and those that support Elon. Lol.
Tesla new model C supposedly coming out at $6999 would kill Chinese brands, it would never get here at that price but if it did ?
Let them buy BYD's, have you seen the videos on them on RUclips?
The only thing china couldn't market in this country was cars, because they couldn't make engines that were reliable enough to buy, now with EVs they can push into our market dominating the car market. The issue is everybody who buys phone will buy Apple, Google or Samsung but the few who think they know best will buy Chinese but that will ruin it for the others as they will undercut on price the likes of Sony etc. So what you will get when we go all EV (apparently) is Tesla at the top, then Kia second and then the Chinese makes will take the rest of the market undercutting everybody. They are trying to replicate the car industry with the mobile phone one. Simple
Just bought a Tesla because it is made by Musk. Great Engineer way ahead of our time. Best EV on the market.
Hope you get one with door panels that line up and that it doesn't set a Gatwick airport carpark on fire... Good Luck!
Chinese EVs are the best in the world. Zeekr have the gold battery pack that can charge 250 miles in 10 minutes. Anybody driving 250 miles should definitely have 10 minute breaks.
Whatever Musk is up to I would never buy a Tesla, no other EV either. I stick to my gasoline/petrol driven cars.
Except he also has a factory in China for the model Y and 3?
Nothing built in Europe will be cheap enough to compete. I'm waiting on the Mini cars getting here.
Main manufacturers have been getting parts and complete vehicles built in China for years but obviously to a good standard.
I was shocked when I was working on my Piaggio scooter and found a made in china sticker internally on the panels.
A couple of years ago I read the twitter exchange of an e-MINI customer berating her MINI dealer, her national MINI representative et al because her e-MINI had become 'bricked' while inside her Californian home garage. They wouldnt accept her car back if she had it dragged out - so she had to have part of the front of her garage removed to be able to lift the e-MINI!! Very eco-friendly!
Maggie, what have we done?
Jaycoo has just offered "journalists £5000 each to write nice pieces about their J7.....
Hi Barrie ,good to see you ,Answer is appealing to Emotions and feelings to sell EVs and Net Zero ,One of my friends has a Jag Ipace , saves him a fortune in fuel compared with his xj6 but upset that that no one see s or wave at him anymore! ,(i think the xj6 was part of his personality)i dare mention to him how much its worth now!
Given the poor reputation of Chinese manufactures and customer service in china in general ,and with over 100 start ups last year , whitled down to 12 by the end of 2025.Risky investment.
anyway it looks like the UK gov wants China to build cars in uk (MG comes home maybe)
Let's be honest, before the Model S there were no desirable electric cars.
So many people would love a Tesla (or high end EV) but can't afford one. The Chinese are going to fill this demand. I'd be most worried about VAG and Stellantis etc...
As for Musk... These voices are the "be kind (or else)" lot...
Call me old fashioned, but I've always based my car buying decisions on the vehicle's merits. What the owner of the company that produced it is up to, doesn't interest me one little bit.
Funny how, if you look at auction prices, Tesla's are the EVs that are most desired?
Only the very highest spec, grade 1 of all the others reach premium prices.
Yuri Bezmenov 1983
2:06 I'll better they all have heat pumps as well and live in cloud cuckoo land as far as net zero is concerned
Nein, it's a Swazticar
Tesla and Chinese EVs are definitely not direct competitors-Tesla is a premium brand of EV, while Chinese are bargain basement cheap knockoffs for the poor
But they’re all sh1t
Thinking of MG maybe ?!
@ any of the Chinese brands, let’s face it, I won’t buy a table if it’s made in China, let alone something with the capacity to explode and burn my house down if it gets the wifi signal
If rattling squeaking Teslas are premium, the word means nothing. The price is premium, the build quality is crap.
@ I have no idea mate, wouldn’t buy electric if my life depended on it. Ferrari everytime.
The Chinese EVs are a lot cheaper than Tesla’s and to be honest some look a lot nicer than Tesla’s. Saying that if I had a burning need 😂 or desire for an EV I would probably go Tesla due to the supercharger network. Do the Chinese pay for large advertising campaigns in the press and EV shills videos?.
Chinese EVs are far more advanced than any American or European EV and I can get one for $12,000
You've gone quiet again Barrie. I sometimes have to turn up the volume for your videos.
...but the "Subscribe" sequence at the end is VERY LOUD! Nearly blew my eardrums, having had the volume at maximum so I could hear you.
Let's judge Musk by his deeds. Words, after all, are cheap.
I would rather buy British, but theirs nowt left to buy. Our lunatic bubble has seen to that.
You mean you aren't full of pride that we make aircraft wings??? 🤣
Tesla are the upmarket EV’s . The Chinese vehicles are bargain basement. The motorists like you know more than the majority are very much badge conscious when it comes to the car they own.

Quite simply, Musk is a right wing conspiracy theorist who takes drugs, and has pretty much control of the company. This makes his car company a risky supplier. If I was back in my one time role assessing suppliers, I would identify the ownership of Tesla as a negative. I would also be concerned at its dependence on carbon credits, its failure to make deadlines or achieve claimed technologies, and environmental concerns round its Texas factories. Will spares and servicing be available in the longer term? (I know this doesn't apply to leases).
I know that the Chinese manufacturing cost base is much lower and this provides a lot of headroom for R&D. I know that they are delivering on new technologies like sodium batteries. And I know their government prizes stability.
So I put my ISO 9000 hat on and say, Tesla represents a higher commercial risk than BYD or SAIC due to its general flakiness.
He's just an actor playing his part. Do you really buy the stories we are given about how Wikipedia, Google, Hewlett Packard, Facebook came about?
What happens to long-term support if China invades Taiwan and real sanctions are applied. I agree in many ways the Chinese are now getting to be technological leaders and are very inovative.
I'm sorry but I wouldn't have a Tesla given to me if it was the only brand of car available on the market.
And that was before he went off on one trying to undermine the government here...
I wouldn't have a Chinese EV either but I could be persuaded over time when it comes to the like of BYD (think ten years once their long-term reliability is established). American crap - no way.
Chinese crap, no way!
