Just bought one a few days ago and loved it. I have only used drill 6 now and the practice version with various settings that I can handle. I also bought 50 balls from Amazon to add to the 40 that I received with the robot. It is incredibly cool to play with. You don't need a club or partner in the winter. Just stay home and practice methodically. Great video by the way. Well organized and very thorough. Thanks!
@@edwardmartinezcespedes8350 lovin it just uploaded a video😂. Theres this shredded lil plastic or rubber coming out of the opening where the balls comes out. Did u notice that too?
Best video I have seen on Newgy. They should put this as formal video. I purchased for $775 and waiting for delivery. No Tote though…What does that VGA port do ? Can we connect to Monitor and track something?
The vga port on the back of control box is for a product called the pong master which I don't think is being produced anymore ( I could be wrong). It is basically target practice. www.newgy.com/products/pong-master
The 3050XL has my interest but as you said, they still seam to be working out minor bugs and connectivity issues. I decided to get the two wheel JT-A for now and let Newgy work out the final issues with the 3050XL. Once the 3050XL is bug free, I believe it will have everything I want. It might be there already but I will wait for feedback on the web to confirm that its solid.
i just bought a 2040 one without controller, im planning to put a custom 3 wheeled head, controlled by an esp32 with my phone, im excited for the robot to be shipped hom 😅
i bought 2055 but parts broke when shipped , contact Roger and all he can do was send to me $2 replacement parts but unfortunately i am 82 can not do the job and he keep silence then...what do you think ? thanks.
You can get random placement (direction), random speed, and/or random wait time (time between shots). You can also control the degree of randomness for each variable (little variation to lots of variation). But there is no random spin. 1-wheel robots are always limited to only one spin at a time unless there is a motor attached to the head to rotate the head between shots. Only the Robo-Pong 3050 XL has such a motor (and it has two wheels).
Assuming the table is 9ft long and the robot is 1 ft deep, you are looking at 10 ft total for both. You might want some more room to take the robot on and off but you can get away with as little as 1.5 ft behind the table without messing with the effectiveness of the ball catch net.
Still reliable after cleaning off dust. Dust is the primary issue for reliability but otherwise functions like new. Ball placement is within an acceptable margin as well.
Hello from france and thank you very much for this interesting video ! I received mine yesterday but I have a problem .... The robot gets stuck every now and then ! The ball at the bottom of the elevator is often stopped ! I even had some balls destructed !! Did you ever encounter this error ?
There are a lot of reasons balls can get stuck. Sometimes it can be caused by using 38 mm balls instead of 40 mm or after a while dust in the machine can reduce friction between the rubber and the ball enough to cause it to get stuck. I would recommend cleaning the wheel because that is the problem 90% of the time, but if you are having balls getting destroyed that could be a much larger issue. My robot has never destroyed a ball so you may need to contact newgy directly as it may be a manufacturing defect or damage in shipping.
Did you wash the balls beforehand? I read that the balls needed to be washed with hot water. Also what happens if I use 40mm balls but different brand, would they work the same?
From the factory, the balls come a little dusty and feel rough. If you are the type of person that cares if their paddle attracts a whole bunch of dust, then you might want to wash them. I did not wash them. The factory dust will come off on its own but the floor (carpet in my case) seems to put dust on the ball as well. There is no escaping it. Dust does build up on the wheel of the machine but I let it build up for a couple of months without noticing any drastic changes in accuracy. I do not use the stock balls that I showed in the video. I use the cheapest 3 star balls that I could find on amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B00OPWAMQ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_82SB64C8DKSX35FB5DAC because they tend to get stepped on or eaten by my dog. I'm not the biggest fan of orange balls either. I used both the stock balls and mapol balls simultaneously and did not notice a huge difference either. Now I only use the mapol balls.
Not sure about obtaining the right correct adapter. My assumption would be that newgy sends you the adapter based on the mailing address but you might want to contact their customer support just to be sure. You might have to buy a special power supply if you want it to work for 120v and 240v. As for the price it is constantly changing. Best bet is to monitor the website with their email newsletters. They have a Valentine's day sale today but I have seen the prices drop to around $700 - $800 in the past (around christmas).
@@antoniomolteni sorry for troubling you but I noticed in your video that the adaptor input of your robo pong 2055 is 100-240V and 50-60HZ, have you obtain it with the robo or you purchased it from out side?
I got mine for $799 from Newgy's website, but the price is constantly changing. I would recommend trying the used market first but the new ones are kind of hard to come by at the moment.
I think there is a manufacturer warranty for product defects 1 year after purchase. This is a semi-commercial product so their support is really good for replacement parts and maintenance. It helps that the design has barely changed over the last 20 years for this model.
There are far too many drills to make a video that is actually watchable. The manual contains all of the information about drill variations on pages 21-27. @@fontexstudios This is a 1-wheel robot without a motor to spin the head or change the head angle. Therefore, it is limited to 1 spin and 1 head angle for each drill. The Amicus and PowerPong robots have 3 wheels and can change spins and head angles between each shot (except for Amicus Basic and Start models that have controllers that limit drills to only one spin and head angle). As long as there is only 1 spin and 1 head angle in the drill, the 2055 should be able to do the same drills as the Amicus and PowerPong robots. But as soon as a drill uses 2 or more spins, or the head angle changes during the drill, the 2055 cannot do that same drill.
I think that the premium compact is actually a 1" table and that the siding may be 4 " in which case I think that it would fit but without seeing the underside of the table or the table in person I cannot be sure. I will say however that even if it is a 4 inch table, by shortening the cantilever arms with an angle grinder you could probably get it to fit.
It's kinda like a bike. It will last as long as you are willing to maintain it. Some parts will fail, and you can order new ones from newgy support or fix yourself. I expext to have mine for a very long time. I have probably spent 200 to 400 hours on it mine and it has not failed yet but parts do eventually fail. I have broken a spring in the hopper and messed up the net so far but the primary mechanism still functions.

it is possible to choose an option that the ball will be shot in a random direction/with a random speed/spin ?

How much space you need behind the robot and also on the end of the table?
Is 13 feet total length is enough?
