- In the first season of Hot Ones, host Sean Evans proved that there's no wing he can't handle. But the world of spicy foods doesn't end at Mad Dog 357 hot sauce. To train for Season 2 and ensure his invisibility on the Hot Ones stage, Sean met up with a true legend of the chili world-Denmark's ghost-pepper-popping Chili Klaus-to take on the hottest chili pepper known to man, the Carolina Reaper. I freaking ADORE Chilly Klaus’s ticks after the one minute marker downing the Reaper. My cheeks are so sore from grinning and SHRIEKING with laughter. That was so so fabulous as authentic and so unexpected!! I thought two chilli tough guys were just gonna flush and maybe some muscle contractions, but y’all were BRILLIANT. Klaus held his pain in so expertly. Y’all both did frankly. I won’t even imagine the pain after the fact.

Carolina reapers are very tasty
It actually taste very good! But this pepper ain't nothing to play with, I used to grow them. I love the taste of these peppers and I really went on a mission to find a pepper that has the same flavor but only a few thousand Scoville Units and they do exist thankfully! I can finally enjoy the taste and not suffer
The worst part is that you cant even call it stomach cramps, it's literally like punches inside you. Also my ass was bleeding the next day from the same pain in your mouth but coming out the other end lol!!

10:50 this has always been my favorite part of this video! I just love seeing him do this because you can tell that he is looking for somewhere to run to get away from the pain. I did it too when I had some crazy pepper one time.. no idea what it was I just know that I almost wanted to run away. Like I was in some sort of danger and just wanted to run away from my problems. 😂 I can see him feeling the exact same way here! It’s crazy because it’s almost like you’re benching your max and then someone comes by and adds 45’s.. then you’re like “oh I can’t keep this up” and then someone else adds another 45 and then another 45. And then when you’re like “yeah I can’t take anymore than this” then someone comes along and adds another 45 and then when you’re ready to drop the bar someone else adds another 45…. This process keeps happening for around 20 min. The heat doesn’t stop going up for 20 min. It’s insane. I remember at one point I told my dad “it just keeps going up..” like there was no where to run to escape it. There was nothing I could do except bear it. And you can see that happening in his head here and I love it. 😂

You know, when I first heard about Chili Klaus, I thought ''this guy must be really good at eating chillies, he must have an inhumanly high heat tolerance''
But actually, it's the complete opposite, and I think that's the reason his videos are so appealing. You can see that he really suffers when he's eating the chillies, often even more than the guests. And yet he keeps doing it over and over again. It's that level of bravery that makes him so popular.
8:11 is the best part. That moment when Chili Klaus is about to reassure Sean, but then burst into laugh because he knows they are going to get fucked by the pepper anyway.
