    For all the people saying, "this is a slow response time"...listen to the dispatch and listen to other units go en route. There are 3 engine companies, 1 ladder company, and a command unit all en route within 90 seconds.
    En route times:
    Engine 3 - 0:35
    Engine 4 - 0:54
    Battalion 1 - 1:06
    Engine 1 - 1:17
    Ladder 1 - 1:30
    Squad 1 - 2:06
    First due engine was out in 35 seconds and that is not a slow response time. Staggering the response allows for proper apparatus placement and command to size up and give orders to incoming units

    One time I woke up at six in the morning to the fire alarms in our apartments blaring. Helped my grandma get out and I was starting to smell smoke, so I hurried out too. Within a minute there were many fire trucks outside, ladders, engines, pumpers, and ambulances. I even noted that there were engines coming from the city next to us. Turns out it was only a dumpster on fire. :/

    That engine is a beast! Almost as big as the ladder truck!
    As far as the response time; people should take a deep breath. As we watch this, we don’t have all the information. There may have been a school resource officer ( School cop) on scene reporting no fire or smoke.

    They sometimes have fire drills at my school where they actually have the Firefighters respond, possibly for practice, but they only send one engine...Unlike this, where they have the entire fire Battalion come.

    I’ve been in situations where the fire department actually showed up twice. First time there was only one truck from one station. Second time there were about five or six trucks from more than one station. There was no fire in both situations

      Well this "keyboard Chief" says this response was pretty sad....... Honestly I would also think all 3 doors would go up at the same time. That last truck out took 100 years to get going and some if that was waiting for the freaking door to open. Now, "No Name", if you and you impatient "fire buddies" can't handle us greenhorns and keyboarders stupid questions and observations, then I'd advise that you tell your fire buddies and ALL the fire departments to quit posting on RUclips. Yeah fire fighters are cocky as hell, but they also don't need to be rude and aggregant bastards and bitches!!!

  • @chazman4461

    According to people in the comments. The only good response time is the firefighters responding to the call before it is dispatched. I guess they are suppose to feel a call coming in and teleport to it.

    I like the full house response pretty cool to see! Honestly the response time was a little slow but maybe it wasn't because of the doors did anyone think of that? They were being a team and ensuring no one was left behind for this call which is good! I think the Chief would be more pissed if they left people behind instead of fast response times! +Brian Kisnter I'd better hope you aren't a firefighter because thats a lot of disrespect towards those who probably saved your family members during 9/11 so if you want to disrespect me and my father with insults like that go ahead but right them down instead of posting them

  • @medic1rn12
    @medic1rn12 8 лет назад +12

    Just my opinion, but as a Paramedic and fire fighter, 2 minutes and 6 seconds for a heavy rescue truck to be responding and rolling out of a station during DAY LIGHT hours is sad and the department chief should be kicking someones ass for such a slow response to a possible fire at a high school. In the video, u hear engine 3 go responding pretty quickly, but it takes an entire additional minute for the engine at this station, as well as the truck and heavy rescue to go responding, those crews should be ashamed.

    • @log2276
      @log2276 8 лет назад

      This is actually a pretty big response to my knowledge; when the fire alarm went off at my old school in Philadelphia only one truck came, no ambulance, no police.

    • @medic1rn12
      @medic1rn12 8 лет назад +1

      No, that was a really slow response. And I do this for a living in a large city department. It's a slow day light hour response. Dumbass

    • @medic1rn12
      @medic1rn12 8 лет назад +3

      Tool, let me try a different approach. As a fire medic for over 20 years now, a day time response for a fire in a school during day light hours, at my department thats anything before 9pm at night, that takes longer than 60 seconds is not acceptable. EVERY rig must be rolling out the doors in less than 60 seconds or the officer on that rig is going to have a discussion with the battalion chief as to the reason why. Now if you are a member of the department that this video is highlighting, you might be trying to improve your slow response instead of getting pissed off at those of us who recognize a slow response and mention it. It might be better to try and make improvements; it might save a member of your community by getting rolling a full minute quicker. Remember guy, every second counts when you are trying to save a person in cardiac arrest or stop a fire from flashing over.

    • @chris818529
      @chris818529 7 лет назад

      Tool guy you are the tool. It's obvious you have never worked on a fire department. 90 seconds was considered slow on our department during the day and we had the fire chief in our station.

    • @YnRxFrost
      @YnRxFrost 7 лет назад

      They get used to calls I think and fire alarms aren't treated like and an urgent call. But they will have there day where a fire alarm comes in and they take there sweet ass time and something is actually happening. We have 60 seconds to be rolling out the door after the tone is dropped.

    I consider that pretty fast for US standards. Ever looked ad FDNY? Those "heroes" get some sleep before responding.
    I have made a lot of FDNY spotting at they take anywhere from 2 up to 4 minutes. Even for confirmed fire or EMS calls.
