A citizen of a democratic country should not have to justify why they are traveling overseas. That's a basic civil right of a citizen. It's also quite egregious that that she's being questionef for being young and traveling alone. Stopping human trafficking isn't an excuse.

The nation issuing the visa to the filipino takes care of the verification if it is really a legit visit or for illegal purposes, it is their nation after all. When she gets to israel she'll undergo through their screening process and be approved or approved by their customs on whether she is a legal visitor to their country.
Ang trabaho lang dapat ng pilipinas diyan ay i-verify kung totoo ang visa at maayos lahat ng papel niya. The BI should only move if they had concrete suspicions that the traveler is not legit and it is up to them to work on proving their suspicion and not the filipina tourist work on proving her travel's legitimacy.

This is not an isolated case. I experienced the same thing when I had to travel overseas to attend a conference. She was not targeted because she's alone. I was leaving with other women (we are all from the same company) and I suffered the same treatment. I was planning to file a case back then ( I even told my family that I'm willing to spend my life savings for lawsuit fees), but I considered the possible implications to the company that organized the conference. To be honest, being interrogated and treated like a criminal was the most degrading thing that happened to me. That experience was traumatic.

Me and my daughter had a bad experience with the immigration officer/s…during pandemic, they are not allowing my daughter to enter the Philippines, my daughter presented a certificate to enter the country in lieu of a Philippine passport. According to the immigration officer there is no such thing as a late birth registry, and the the certificate issued by the Phil consulate is not acceptable. Then another officer went to the booth, until there were 3 including the supervisor…the supervisor even said that there is a new guidelines, but cannot explain to me what it is all about, I told the officer that the was issued the day after we left SFO, therefore that doesn’t apply to us. They keep asking for a Philippine passport, i keep telling them that they issue the certificate instead because of the furlough due to pandemic. I even told them that i even have an email from the immigration regarding the requirements for our trip. After 2 hours, they finally stamp the certificate. And 7:12 the lady in the airport told me that they just waiting for me to bribe them!!!! This is so sad!

This is not the only offloading case due to BIs over questioning and irrelevant documents asked. If you google and check youtubes, a lot of filipinos voiced out their offloading experienced. Philippines is becoming like North Korea. As long as a passenger has valid passport, plane ticket and no hold departure order the passenger should be able to leave country without questions. Only court can decide if one can travel or not. BI dont have power to stop someone from travelling if theres no hold departure order. Even on their website, nothing that says they have authority to stop someone from travelling if theres no hold departure order. They cant stop you just because of speculation. I hope BI is aware that if a passenger will carry so much documents irrelevant to the travel, the host or receiving country might not let them enter. Its already difficult to get a visa or to afford to travel and being oflfoaded without refund or reimbursement is very frustrating. Some people like to travel solo or meeting someone in other countries. Its none of BI’s business.

We were going for a 3-day weekend trip but missed the flight even though checked in at the airport 3 hours before departure and even hearing our flight being called they said too bad come earlier next time.
I said we checked in as soon as we were allowed and we missed the flight and left the airport.
Lost money because of missed flight:, Grab to airport, Grab back home, air ticket for 2 people and 1 night hotel (allowed to cancel the last 2 nights without penalty).
I felt the Immigration Officer wanted cash to let us go to our flight but I refused to do that and as I said we were held with endless questions until our flight departed and we were still in immigration.
Good for this lady for raising the issue hope they improve their outdated departure system/rules. They need to travel and see how professional it is in other countries and learn a better system.
    Checklist for next trip:

    2. Cash

It was my flight last Friday and I'm traveling alone too. I thought I would NOT make it after seeing the same stupid process they did to her like asking me about when I graduated, my job, the money I have, my manager, the kind of company I work for, etc then in the end they asked me to talk to the immigration head officer... 😮😮
Akala ko ma-ooffload ako. But luckily I made it. ❤ Tingin ko medyo niluwagan na nila kase napahiya na sila because of this brave girl. Pero pramis!!! Ganun parin mga tanong nila. Walang nagbago. Parehong-pareho parin kay Ate Girl. The only difference is mas malaki na yung chance mong hindi ma-offload if you have a stable job, have your legal documents ready, and if you show that you're financially capable.

That BI has to meet the consequences of his actions. But I have a question, why do you have to pay to rebook a ticket? Kc it happened to me several times last 2021 from Canada to US, Canada to France and one time Canada to Philippines all I did is rebook without paying anything. The delay is not my fault it’s because of the very long lineup but the questions are brief. We know they are just following orders from their superiors but they have no knowledge to comply. Those BI should be replaced & should be reprimanded.
