When running slow, like at 3:48 it has an almost music like sound to it. Add a melody and one could think you've added a background music ;-). Very nice!
Does anyone know why these type of steam engines never really existed? I've seen multi-cylinder steam engines before like twin heads, double expansion, triple expansion, and very rarely quadruple expansion, but I haven't seen any ships or vehicles that use a V style steam engines, any thoughts?
Hi Dave, beautiful job, nice engine! How balanced is this arrangement? Is there a way for a wobbler to be completely balanced? You engine seems extremely smooth. Thanks for sharing.
@@daveynipples did you ever put up plans for this magnificent engine? I'd just love to build one of these but in 2023 I bet the material prices will be astronomical!
Doug Doty , it takes very little air to run. A few psi at best. I have it regulated down to 40 psi to run many engines on a manifold, and it runs all of them at top speed no problem.
I understand, but is the volume small as well. Like how small of a compressor will work, maybe like the air nailer compressors the roofing guys use ?? I have one of those that runs almost silent is why I ask
I'm unrelated and new this is a guess but I would assume that volume would not really matter as long as it can be replaced before psi drops to none operable levels speed and size of the cylinder's will speed up consumption rate
Ken MacMillan hadn't planned on it with this one, due to the acrylic heads, but I want to learn more about the boiler part someday, and run some of them on steam for sure!
Awesome machining and a project that could live comfortably in a contemporary art museum.
Mister, that is one beautiful engine you made there. Well done!
Why thank you!
What a gorgeous piece of art.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful engine.
_[entire crowd's worth of applause]_
Wow! What a beautiful piece of machinery, both in appearance and that sound!
Magnificent planning , beautifully machined and assembled and sounds great when she's running
im making a flat 8 kinda using this as a reference, pray for me.
that is fascinating how you built that. well done
Just ran across this video. Very nice construction!
Well Done!
I believe you can crank it up much harder than you have shown
Now that is cool. Hums along very smooth.
What a Well HandMade Working Smoth Running Steam Engine.
Very rad bud. My brother really likes working for ya. You should sell that stuff.
now thats cool..good job thanks for sharing
How much horsepower? I have an idea
Is that an elevator music version of Mr. Self Destruct by NIN?
Great build! How much does it weigh?
Where did you get the belt for the fan, or did you make it. It's the perfect size for what I'm making. Love the engine by the way, sounds great too!
It’s a small printer belt, common in many sizes. Called a GT2 I believe. 6mm.
@@daveynipples Ahh I see, don't know how I didn't think about that. Thanks for the reply!

FilterYT it is very balanced! It has a decent sized flywheel on it, but it runs real smooth.

Brilliant job sir! That is a RUclips fucking marvel mate!
Well, nice job.
Why are cylinders transparent?
Alexander Davronov , just for fun, to see if I could make it work.
so once the piston gets to the hole there it releases the steam pressure? Sorry I'm new to thus
here ya go! ruclips.net/video/Bk9_tEPQRvo/видео.html
daveynipples thank ya!
wow thats amazing.
waht baring did you use un the crankshaft?
they are 1/4" id by 3/8" od roller bearings....
Nice job.....
good lucky
Would you share how much air compressor it takes to run this on slow or medium or fast just for reference. I wold love to do something similar.

Bagaimana sistem pelumasan pada piston itu ?
awesome!! thank you
Very Cool!!!
What is the name of background music

perfekt super thank you
Nice...Now lets try it with actual STEAM!
Who's here after watching Dr. Stone S2 Episode 4?
Same
I have a plan
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
A nice Air Motor, but until it runs on steam it is not a steam engine.
the air was warm, and damp, does that count? ;)
or, it's a "cold dry steam" engine. :)
It,s smooth
