One Parts Circuit - How To Make Reverse Polarity Protection Circuit

In this video, we are going to show you making a reverse polarity protection circuit. It is a very useful circuit. This circuit can protect your device from revere polarity connection. This also helps for the beginners electrician. Anyhow, if they have any wrong connection, this circuit might help to protect you electronics device .
To make this circuit you need only One mosfet - IRF - 540N
Component List :
1. Mosfet : IRF - 540N
2. DC Bulb : 12v ( 5 watt)
3. Power Source - DC 12v
4. Soldering Iron

look up the datasheet you can find online for your specific type of device. but dont forget to provide appropriate cooling for higher loads

This is wrong. Yes the circuit works. But mosfet has no function. It only uses the protection diode inside Mosfet for reverse voltage protection. Mosfet feature is not used.
You can use any diode for this job. Connect the circuit in series. It works the same way. And the diode is much cheaper.

Mosfet can be used for this purpose. Any diode can be used but it has some other problems like more voltage drop heat issue power loss etc. P channel Mosfet can be use to overcome this problems

Voltage drop is more and power loss is more. Diode will heat more.

The voltage drop happens for a short moment but then the gate of the mosfet open and the voltage no longer drops.
