    I came here because my BeachBody workout routine has a day of yoga, and they are doing this pose. They have a modifier person when you can't do the pose, but y'all give an in-depth explanation so I can actually work toward doing the move without modification. Thank y'all. ❤ 🧘‍♀️

    Nemesis asana for me….David Garrigues says in his tutorial video on this that really the knees should be on the outside of the arm though and you should be squeezing inner thighs into arms….confused..! He says knees in armpit is a mini cheat..moot point for me as I can’t seem to do either without collapsing into it 😩

    • @DavidandJelenaYoga
      @DavidandJelenaYoga  2 года назад +2

      We can only teach what we've learned, which in this case would be knees to armpits in bakasana. We'd suggest whichever position you put your knees to your arms that you focus on the hand position (as shown in this video) and puffing through your upper back which will help you to not collapse as much. :)

      Keep in mind--the feet lift when you go sufficiently forward --both looking and leaning--don't look down but forward --you can also get into the posture with your toes touching the ground and practice alternating lifting up one lower leg at a a time.

    Hello David and Jelena. At 2:58 you mentioned "turning your hands out", which I now interpret as external rotation of the arms. However, at 3:10, you mentioned "spin your arms in". I noticed how Jelena's elbow rotated outwards. I must have misunderstood some things here. Could you please help me to understand this? Thank you!

    Bakasa is crane pose which is what you show, kakasana is crow, with bent elbows 😢 the sanskrit is pretty literal here.
