Hi Roger, I used to work for a plant and tool hire firm. We used nearly all the Hilti range regarding drills/ SDS hammer drills and breaker hammers. Got a lot of respect for them. They would take a beating and not have a problem. Had lots of repairs to do with Bosch and Milwaukee but the Hilti brand would rarely have an issue. A lot more reliable than other manufacturers. The company I worked for ended up replacing all they’re stock of Bosch and Milwaukee with Hilti. Great piece of kit!
That sounds good, I'll look forward to the bake off :-) Hopefully it'll be a similar thing to your cordless drill test because you did a really nice job of that one. Of course, it's been proven that Hilti tools are extremely reliable but it does seem that the specs are a bit lacking when compared to competitors such as the DeWalt DCF887, which is only 18V (20V) rather than 22V as well.
Even though I'm in the UK I've got the XDT12. It only took a week to ship from the States, its better than the UK DTD170 as it comes with a one touch bit chuck so you only have push the bits in to insert them. For some reason I cannot understand the UK model you have to pull back the chuck collar to insert the bits?? Why would they make two different versions on the same product line in Japan?
Hey Roger, how have you been? Great tool, Hilti is Hilti. Yes, I would like to see more Hilti tools here and another brands as well. Some comparisons will be welcome too. (Could you please check an information for me? If I buy any Hilti tool from UK for example, and bring it over here, Would I get the warranty?) Thanks for sharing, greetings from Brazil. Cheers! Ben

Thanks Gareth. This is just the kind of feedback we need to give our reviews more depth.
Very nice, I wonder if any brand has jumped on the hydro pneumatic time impact drivers. Faster and so much quieter.
Yes we have the Milwaukee, fluid drive in our big test
Oh wow such strong. Please use the tool on something strong. I’d like to see how it does in steel and concrete
It would good to see a comparison against the best that Makita can offer, the DTD170 is a beast.
I have the dtd170 it performs flawless everytime. I love the auto mode
We have it in the edit now and will start rolling out the impact drivers in the next couple of weeks culminating in a bake off
