Kazuha's Potential as (#1?) Anemo Support (Pre-release Kit Analysis) | Genshin Impact

- Let's discuss Kazuha and what he brings to the table that other Anemo supports don't.
This video assumes C0 Kazuha (so not the Main DPS version at C6), and takes into consideration several melee elemental carries that could really benefit from a support Kazuha.
1. The first thing he does is he DOESN'T KNOCK BACK OR UP HALLELUJAH. That alone already makes him unique among Anemo supports, and represents a welcome change for melee carries that suffer from DPS downtime due to knockbacks and knockups from other supports.
2. His Elemental Mastery into Elemental DMG Bonus conversion is ESPECIALLY good for carries where Sucrose isn't that great of an alternative due to her EM sharing not putting in the work. Most notably Electro-Charged comps like Keqing + Xingqiu or Childe + Beidou + Fischl, and soon enough Ayaka + Xingqiu for Permafreeze.

Kazuha's skill has high scaling at level 8 at around 400 skill damage + 300 plunge dmg + additional swirl dmg along with his burst that does slashing dmg + DoT that ticks every 1.6 seconds. He seems to generate a lot of energy particles with 6-9 second cooldown and also he can group enemies. Man I'm so excited for him!
His C1 is going to be pretty cracked...

@@Dylanfrias24 Depends on the team, if you are running a permafreeze team with Ganyu, elemental mastery is not that important.
Something to note abput Kazuha's Elemental Damage buff: it's possible that it can apply to Anemo and Geo.
If we look at Sucrose's kit, it specifically says that when she triggers a Swirl reaction, characters with the MATCHING swirled element have their EM buffed.
Kazuha's kit does not say this. His kit says that when he triggers a swirl reaction he grants teammates an Elemental Bonus to whatever element they have. It does not specify that it only buffs teammates whose elements were swirled, but rather says that once he triggers Swirl of any kind, everyone is buffed.
Now, it is possible that this isn't the final wording, or it's translated poorly, in which case Kazuha might not buff Anemo and Geo. However, based on current wording, he most certainly does.

Keep in mind that it would be pointless to make this buff trigger upon Swirl then. Imagine a 2 Anemo and 2 geo comp. You can't buff your teammates because you still need to Swirl some element.
It's been pointed out that the English translation is off and the Chinese original provides more clarity. Either way Anemo has always been about the 4 traditional elements, not about itself or Geo. I'm interested to see what it will be in the end
@@renznucum40 which would make it dependent on WHO you're fighting now. unnecessary move by mihoyo when they could simply change the wording to "upon hit" like they have it on Sucrose..
@@Benalecjohn i agree with you it doesn’t make sense for kazuha to swirl geo and anemo and buff them. These guys are just coping real hard and hoping kazuha can buff their Xiao. LOL

2:33 Huh, I actually interpreted his passive differently from what you thought. The wording on his passive says that he increases his allies’ elemental damage to THEIR corresponding element; meaning the elemental DMG bonus they’ll get will be based on what vision they have, not whatever the swirled element was.
So for example, Kazuha does a hydro swirl reaction, it’ll give Ningguang an X% of geo DMG bonus because she has a geo vision.

@@smith7495 nope, that part shows both electro and hydro being swirled at the same time, which, according to AJ’s interpretation, will increase the party’s Electro and Hydro DMG by X%.
I don’t blame him for thinking this way. For all we know, AJ could be right and I could be wrong, but I really just wanna emphasize the wording: “increase Elemental DMG based on *their corresponding element*” rather than “increase Elemental DMG based on the swirled element”
I really hope I’m right because if I am, this means that Kazuha can also buff both Geo and Anemo units as well
If what you say is true, one Swirl (with whatever element) would give you a buff for all elements present in your team, right?
At that point why make it Swirl dependent though, they should just make it "when Kazuha hits an enemy with his skills", because if you wanted to run double Anemo plus double geo you couldn't get the buff because there would be no element to Swirl with.
Also in Chinese the way it's described aligns with the description they use for Sucroses C6.
If you're gonna buff all Elements regardless, they could have also just let him grant a buff to "elemental damage", no need to distinguish between different elements at that point.
@@Benalecjohn I dunno why they’d make it swirl dependent, that was just how I interpreted the wording from his passive’s description xD maybe they thought being able to trigger his passive even without doing a swirl reaction would’ve made it a buff that was too easy to access? 🤷♂️
You do bring up some rather good points though. I guess we’ll just have to see once he’s released.

the english stated that elemental damage is increased corresponding to the receiver's vision
meanwhile in Indonesia it stated that it only boost elements that got swirled
but I kinda agree more to AJ, since there is also extra description on english, which is "Bonuses for different elements obtained through this method can co-exist"
it indicates that swirling multiple elements gives multiple bonuses
cmiiw, since this statement is made before he is officially launched

I was planning on running Ayaka as an cryo enabler for Xiangling to melt of field. Like a cryo childe kinda.
But this perma freeze team sounds good too.
Definitely an option, I think so too. Melt the Xiangling, not the Ayaka. Wanted to keep it short so it probably sounds like I'm dismissing melt completely but in reality I've already prepared my Xiangling for her debut

It's not just the element infused that gets boosted, it's the entire party. If it were just the element infused, it's say that (i.e. The Viridescent set), and not "grant teammates a 0.04% Elemental DMG Bonus to their *corresponding* element"
It's been pointed out that it's a bad English translation of the original Chinese description. There's no way to say for sure if his buffs are going to be rainbow (covering every element incl Anemo and geo) or not, but it's very unlikely and shouldn't be expected to avoid another zhongli debacle. Traditionally Anemo buffs Electro/Pyro/Cryo/Hydro.

With ganyu gaving a rerun anytime soon.. Kazuha with 1000 EM will give 40% cryo damage bonus to Ganyu for 16 seconds. TAKE NOTE GUYS THAT Ganyu Q SKILL HAS 15 SECS DURATION, 15 SECS CD AND Kazuha Q SKILL HAS ALSO 15 SECS COOLDOWN!!!! BY THE TIME YOU LOSE YOUR ELEMANTAL DAMAGE BUFF YOU CAN CAST AGAIN KAZUHA AND GANYU SKILL AND REAPEAT ENDLESSLY. Ganyu and Kazuha Tandem will be very broken.

Actually I think kazuha can give geo and anemo bonus DMG bc it does not state u need to swirl specific element for the bonus, if u read sucrose’s c6 it says u need to swirl a specific element for the bonus but in kazuha it just says swirl
Since his release it's been cleared up that he only buffs the swirled element and cannot buff anemo/geo at all

Good question. I'm definitely not pulling for his 5star, so if I end up wanting to use him mostly as a buffer through his EM I'll likely go for Iron Sting since it's the most accessible.
Right now I'm thinking of building him in a more balanced way as a sub-dps though. My approach is rather practical. I have usable artifacts ready for him except a VV crown, depending on what I get there I'll either go for black sword or blackcliff, maybe even HoD
@@Benalecjohn yeah I think if you're only planning on using Kazuha for the elemental damage conversion then the iron sting is a really strong option and accessible for everyone too.
Black sword doesn't really do much for his elemental skill and burst damage though right? But it could work as a stat stick for crit rate. Though in that case I think harbinger of dawn would work better actually.
Either way I'm very excited for him now, can't wait for his release so we learn more about what's best for him
@@redcloud7447 yeah BS would purely be a critrate Stat stick. Could become a really strong option for ayaka in the future though, so Hod may have to suffice for now. I'm still conflicted about how much I should prioritize EM, but at the end of the day I can only build what my artifacts allow for, and 4VV is a must in my case.

Hey Alec, would you recommend pulling for him for a Keqing team? I have enough wishes already to hit hard pity, still have to win the 50/50 but if I do he seems like he’d be good for that boost to electro
I do. He seems especially good in an Electro-charged team with Keqing and Xingqiu. Both Hydro and Electro applied to one enemy can be swirled and transferred to all other enemies caught in the swirl, basically spreading the reaction itself. The recent EM buffs only make it better, everyone benefits
