Checking House Pressure With The DG-8 From TEC

My latest tool comes from The Energy Conservatory and is the DG-8 precision manometer. I use it to check my home pressure when my outside air damper opens A positive ventilation strategy pressurizes a home, pushing pollutants and humidity out which improves IAQ.

@@boywhohadatiger it should be possible but your FP should convert. The problem is its sensor doesnt have thr resolution at low pressures that the dg8 has so it becomes a random number generator.

@@timdestasiohvac I tried it last night on a base level. Put the units to mmwc and ran some test with the exhaust fans all on and no ahu on and noticed the p1 probe Inside was in a slight negative like 0.1 mmwc and when exhaust was turned off and ahu turned back on the p1 probe went to 0.3-0.4 mmwc. I’ll try it out at work on some wic. We ran into a case where the mua where was down and the wic an WIF were very leaky but the building was so negative the wic WIF were pulling warm air inside from outside. I really do wanna invest in the dg8 but wanna see how far I can push the Fieldpiece manometer before upgrading. I also believe the conversion from 1mmwc is roughly 10 pascals and the field orfice does measure mmwc down too to 0.1 range

You plan on adding any more videos with the dg8? I bought mine about two months ago this ago, was mainly planning on using it to confirm duct leakage in houses. Only used it a hand full of times, though.
