What does California, Illinois, New York and all the major cities in America have in common? They have the highest homeless population and are all run by Democrats. Democrats have marketed themselves as the party for the poor. Therefore, the best way to stay in power is to create policies that create more and more poor people.
The best example is California, known as the Golden State, once gave us Ronald Reagan and was the envy of the states. Today, California has the highest concentration of homelessness and welfare of any state in the country with Democrats in full control of every major political office as well as every major city including Los Angeles and San Francisco. Republicans are ignored as Democrats force policies that create more poverty and homelessness including:
Rent Control: In theory it sounds good to prevent rent from increasing on poor; but multiple studies show it causes housing shortages that reduce the number of low-income people who can live in a city while raising the demand for housing. Further, it deters new housing construction and worsens the homelessness problem creating more homelessness than homes available.

After my husband was chased by a man with a machete and my teens saw a dead guy in Cap. Hill, naked people walking aimlessly and doing drugs, we said enough. Very high taxes, horrid traffic, outrageous real estate, no police, 20 % hike in violent crime and taxpayers are the bad guys. Hard pass. They can have it.

I worked for the local Sheriff in King County, where Seattle is located. My career spanned 26+ years, with 22 in King County; patrol, plain clothes detective and finally, patrol supervisor. When I began in 1999 Seattle PD had about 1700 sworn. They currently have less then 900. The others retired or flat out quit due to the active, rabid anti police ideology of the city…it’s politicians and residents. SPD is unable to hire enough QUALIFIED candidates, despite lowering the hiring standards AND being among the highest paid rank & file in the region. No amount of money will convince officers to stay or hire on. Why would anyone? They know they get zero support and will be vilified for doing their jobs. Combine that with a useless, social justice county prosecutor and a rabid, anti- police county executive and city council and you have the root causes of this mess. Once marijuana was legalized, the problems only worsened. Drug users flocked there and were rewarded. The city spends hundred’s of millions per year and the junkies just multiply. The Homeless Industrial Complex is alive and well, with zero accountability. The city is awash in tents, tarps, garbage, stolen property, syringes, graffiti, boarded up businesses…it’s truly dystopian.

maybe not. up here in Oregon, people moved from california to here due to the relative cheapness of housing back in the day. And still doing it. Has nothing to do with politics, so they do bring that here, but those moving due to bad politics etc are moving elsewhere. Not to Oregon, another ultra stupidly politically brainless corrupt government state. Not to WA either. These states seem similar in mindset to them so they move here for cheaper housing AND liberal idiocy. They aren't moving to our rural areas, usually, but to the liberal big cities.

The next day he thought he had gotten hit by a car as his entire body was in pain and was soaking in blood. The only reason I know he was attacked by a mob is because he called me during it and said these guys are all insane here before it happened. I lived in western Washington north of Seattle from 1982 to 2019. During this period I watched the constant deterioration of a once beautiful city, increased crime and the constant expansion of the homeless population. The local and state governments raised taxes every year even after referendums voted in by the people to lower taxes. Instead of the state government using the inflated taxes the government became increasingly involved in the lives of the average citizen through restrictions and regulations. My wife and I moved to a free State in October of 2019. I hate what the left is doing to Washington, Oregon and California.

I'd imagine that it'd be a lot more difficult to be a drug addict living on city streets, but I didn't do that so I wouldn't know.
The point of my post however, is that these liberal-ran cities keep implementing policies that attract more of those types of homeless people and various other criminals, while not only making it more difficult for honest law-abiding people to be safe and secure in their homes and of their properties, but also doing so at the financial expense of those law-abiding persons under the guise of it being for resident benefit, when in reality their sole motivation is the kick-backs they receive from those tax-payer funded organizations.

@Sndjzkzk!!! Absolutely, my good man, there’ve been republicans mixed with folks that have left those ‘blue’ states. I was speaking in terms of generalities, of course -my bad but those aren’t the folks that political issue is taken with. In truth, sympathy is given. It’s the others! And they carry the same political disease they infected upon their states -progressive social liberalism. They could have voted for a different outcome but didn't. Instead, they rode that pony to it dropped. You can study these effects by examining places like Austin, Texas or the state of Florida or Colorado. Why heck, you can look at California of 1975 overlayed with California of 2022. We can see the political trauma left on these places. I point to the Northerners moving to the Southeast that are having the same effect as Californians moving to Idaho, Arizona, Montana and Texas. Let’s be real here, man. These folks aren’t moving to Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia or St Louis. Nobody gets out of bed in their home of New York City and thinks tomorrow I'll move to Clovis, New Mexico or Dearborn, Michigan. In the words of the Great Joe Biden, “C,mon, man”. I understand some of this is a political effort to change the voting-block of a state in an effort to capture those electoral votes. This is a very complex subject matter. Cheers.

I have to ask out of curiosity but Which type of liberals do you mean? There are conservative liberals, right liberals, established liberals, progressive liberals etc etc. It’s strange how many Americans don’t understand what liberal means. By definition you’re liberal, unless you hate democracy. Liberal- 1. willing to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas.
      2. relating to or denoting a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise.
Also your “left” are actually more center right. Not even AOC is truly left. Although left-wing politics came to the United States in the 19th century, there are no major left-wing political parties in the United States. Despite existing left-wing factions within the Democratic Party, as well as minor third parties such as the Green Party, Communist Party, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Workers World Party, Socialist Party, and American Solidarity Party (a Christian democratic party leaning left on economics), none of the parties have ever won a seat in congress. Why is the political spectrum so hard for you guys to understand? Not an attack but a serious question I really want to know.

True. This was done in NJ in New Brunswick, back in the 1970s. The city (Democrat run) built high rises for the low income and poor, ( mostly black tennants)for lower income folks. Some drug addicted and such. In less than 5 years....BRAND NEW APARTMENT buildings became SLUMS.
The tenants threw their garbage everywhere, NEVER PICKED UP after themselves. They broke windows, doors, and put holes in the walls. And the buildings QUICKLY became slum drug havens. Why?
Also, what's been WRONG WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE BABIES? Can't mothers and fathers TEACH THEIR CHILDREN to "PICK UP" after themselves, after THEY CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES.....FIRST?
It's called personal RESPONSIBILITY people. WHEN is THIS GOING TO BE APPLIED TO EVERYONE?
All throughout the centuries there have been poor people. At the beginning of the 20th century, MANY POOR PEOPLE CAME FROM EUROPE. (No money, dirt poor.) I KNEW MANY of their families in NJ.
They were POOR, but they kept their small little apartments CLEAN, and picked up of any and all trash. Inside AND OUTSIDE the apartments. They took PRIDE in how their places looked. They were poor, but they were CLEAN.. Why DO SOME FOLKS THINK BEING A SLOB IS okay? And isnjust a part of their LIFESTYLE? IT'S NOT.....IT'S JUST BEING A SLOB. And you don't get to cry "victim", if you can't even take care of something sma ll that you have. You'll NEVER take care of a nice house, if given the chance. And, then get angry, if someone has a nice CLEAN house. Sorry, it doesn't WORK THAT WAY. What's the mindset here? I don't get it.
Someone explain that to me. This is NO ONES "FAULT", EXCEPT THE ONE DOING IT. So laying BLAME on others, on this topic isn't going to work.
My daughter and I lived in an apartment in Macon, GA, and were walking the dog. A car with two women and several kids in the back were driving in the parking lot. They all had McDonald's food. Then the mothers and kids threw ALL the trash OUT THE WINDOWS, into the parking lot, and entire BUNCH of it landed all around our feet and all over the place. SHAME ON PARENTS WHO ALLOW LITTERING AND TRASHING. You're NOT DOING YOUR JOBS. That's called failing, as a parent.

That's not what his address was about. He is talking about cliques, associations, factions, small groups, in league with others. When you read the whole farewell, it's a warning against Corporatism at least what that would be today. Corporations.
Every time you see the Washington quote it starts with the following "(Political parties)", in other words, the writer of that particular article is putting words in Washington's mouth.
I encourage you to read the entire farewell. This is a myth propagated by those who are against the constitution not for it.
There are issues with the two parties, but it's more about corporate influence.
And it is infecting both parties.
The three branches buying stock using insider knowledge, family members/friends employed by organizations that are affiliated with decisions the three branches are making, the length of time they spend in Washington. It isn't conservative and liberal beliefs that are at issue. It's the political machine. Local has less of an issue.
