k... nice review but you did not show a VERY powerful feature. The database diagraming. Select a table or schema and tell it to diagram it. Using the FKs the relational diagram is shown. I have impressed my colleagues with just this feature alone.
this is precisely why i was interested in looking up DataGrip because I saw JetBrain's documentation on it
We've fallen in love with Studio3T because of the Visual Query Builder. Our PM's and BA's are able to make some relatively complex queries by just dragging and dropping fields. Does DataGrip have a similar feature?
Pretty good.. not bad... again, pretty good. Love the little roundups
Haha thanks troy. I'll try to work them in to new videos :)
I was using DG for a while and i loved it. But there is one thing that is really missing. That is compare Database to GIT repostory, and make SQL migration scripts. Will this feature be in new datagrip ?
Have you find a way to do this?
Nice video. You sound like Napoleon Dynamite. 👍
I've gotten that a couple times. Cheers.
JetBrains are the best. Most of college students in Europe can get all their products for free by signing up with their college e-mail address.
That is also a good business tactic. When I finish college I will probably buy their pack because I never used anything else except their IDEs. (maybe I won't buy it because they are so generous that they even give out their products to accounts with elementary school handles, and I got kid sister)
I have a JetBrains package for $ 30 for a year
How?
HOW
Wait what, $249/year?? If I look it up it'd cost me €649/year!
Yikes! Sorry about that Mateo.
649 is for organisations. It is 249 for individuals. Exactly same product. Click the tab "For Individual Use"
@@MohanPednekar oh woah thanks didn't see that
@@mateovansweevelt5257 Also, if you pay for a year's worth of subscription or monthly for 12 months without interruption, then you get to use the latest versions during that year as long as you want, even if you stop the subscription. So for $250 for individual, you get all the software & licenses for life for the versions released in that year.
I have the 2018 versions I can still use, since I bought a year's worth in 2018.
Nice review. Please do more.
So demanding...
@@IgnoreMyChan Ha ha! Well, I did say "Please" .
With pleasure! :D
yes.
Just buy IntelliJ and get data grip for free?
$24.90 per year? That's probably wrong.
Thanks for pointing this out. I didn't realize I had misspoke. It is actually 24.90 / month.
woah really? Tell us more Einstein.
_Should you _*_buy_*_ JetBrains DataGrip?_ You *can't!* Subscription based licenses only.
Gone are the days of software 'ownership' ! :(
@@BeABetterDev Really, who want's to own ANYTHING ? I use Uber, stream videos, etc. :)
The version you actually start paying from is with you forever
@@maximsobolevskiy5595 exactly. You actually do own the software, just not all updates until eternity. Which makes perfect sense, updates cost money
isn't it perpetual fallback ?
It doesn’t worth it if you have to spend your own money. But if your employer’s money… 😼
:P
