I have been to Shanghai once for two weeks to visit someone. All the time i felt like as if i was on a film set. The buildings looked nice from the outside, but from the inside they were terrible. It's a miracle that the high rises are still standing. This "film set" feeling got to me on many places there, as if everything was just staged. Everything that looks nice - isn't. Also the mentality of the people is not something i liked. I was happy when i left this place again.
Some background about China Poly Group (保利), one of a biggest group that involves property development, trading, culture, entertainment and more.. The Poly Culture builds a lot shopping mall and cinema like this. Most of the malls were shutdown due to the covid-19, insufficient funds and China’s property bubble.

One fun fact about foreign franchise... is that the owners are ALWAYS local people. This is not understood by 99% of world population. Whenever a boycott happens to a foreign brand, the ones who suffer the most are the LOCAL OWNERS. I remember a "funny" news regarding anti-America boycott in Indonesia. I forgot what was the root problem, I think it was about Moslem criminalization or it was about Israel. So, a bunch of native Moslem Indonesian wreaked havoc a KFC restaurant somewhere in Java. They destroyed everything. Then the OWNER came. He cried and yelled like "Please stop! Don't ruin my place. I'm a MOSLEM too!" So yeah... Basically those Moslem rioters just destroyed another Moslem properties in the name of anti America. What an irony.... It's the same with the Carrefour in China. The owners are still Chinese people!

I love they hire a janitorial caretaker to live in a place he alone has no ability to maintain or keep secure. Crazy!
The janitor doesn’t really have any responsibility, he just has to keep people out so that they don’t have an accident in the mall.
