I watched them live in germany a litleover a year ago. I cried only 3 times during the concert :) I listen to Sigur Ros for almost 15 years now and I was never able to see them live, because I dont have much money and they rarely visited germany. But 2 years ago I met a woman who now is my partner. She gifted me a ticket to there world tour and I could finally visit a concert. I have really been that happy in my life.
@@Mr.Cherry_McPeterson Kind of difficult to translate this, because it's a word game. Kveikur means candlewick, and kveikja means turn on. Kveikur can therefore also be understood as the thing that turns on. Also, "It burns" can also be "It stings" And I don't know, is fuck inappropriate around here? "Wick" Let's turn on the candlewick And run into the cool safety We wait We wait Cover our ears hard Squeeze our eyes together We wait We wait We wait The noise pierces our ears The eardrums leak out It burns It burns With blackness tied over our eyes Smoke searching hands It burns It burns It burns You turn me on You turn me on We burn the palms to the bone It stings the hands We wait We wait We disappear into the horizon Into the fiery red sunset We fuck We fuck We fuck You turn me on You turn me on Jonsi does this a lot in his songs.
Das ist noch echtes "Musikhandwerk" und nicht nur programmierte Loops aus der Bandmaschine - einfach große Klasse und beliebig oft anzuhören, ohne dass es langweilig wird
This performance doesn't hold a candle to the performance I saw in Austin back in April. They've been touring for a year and a half. You can really hear it in Jonsi's voice...
Maxim Khrustalev Yes it's a relative thing. By "destroy" I meant they are always the mellowed version of original songs. But people can like mellow too.
smoke hash then stay on car with a friend in long ride in the winter and open the windows on high way play this track on highest volume . i did it and it was the best experience i could do
As I recall, that’s Kjartan Hólm, Goggi’s brother and former guitarist of band “For a Minor Reflection”. He has being touring with them for a certain period
What a terrible audio mix. Muffled bass, flat mid-range/vocals and piercing treble. The producer/mixer should be ashamed they could make such a great performance sound so bad.

LOL, I love how Jonsi react when the song is done, he was like "It's done, I don't give a shit and leave the stage"
This is the greatest video on the internet
Kveikur! One word! Many meanings! A play on words! 😉
Can you, please, explain?

Was amazing in Orlando FL too
Nice of the BBC to create this tutorial on how not to live mix Sigur Rós
indeed
They totally destroyed the actual song. BBC sessions always do that. Be it this or Porcupine Tree or any other band.
+Anuj Chitale BMTH bbc lives sound pretty good actually

I prefer this version to the album version. A lot of good parts that I only really noticed when I heard this version.

HB Kveikur ! 10y today !
who plays the 2nd guitar on this live version? It gives an extra touch on this magnificent song...

Someone do a cover version of this now
Sublime🙌
Magistral
