Thanks a lot my friend! I guess many of us Landscape peeps had to come up with something different during the lockdown - and it seems I'm really hooked by the macros :) Take care of yourself during these days Andy!
Thank you Bruce! Renting a lens is certainly an option to give it a try without burning a lot of money. Perhaps one of your friends is willing to give one to you for a few days to try? But be warned, it is highly addictive ;)
Best tip I got from this was to try sitting down! I always wonder why my back aches so badly when I do indoor macro photography! Never thought of sitting! Thank you!
Well, at least you got something out of it Elizabeth 😉 As you see, I'm not the youngest anymore and work like this requires awkward positioning over a period of time. Feeling comfy is part of the fun 😎
@@OliverHerbold I know the feeling. I turn 80 in December, have lots of macro experience and lots of sore backs and knees! Comfy is the answer from now on!!! Just off to get more dandelion clocks and a chair for my studio!.
@@elisabethlafontaine8979 one can never have enough Dandelion clocks! I wish you many more years of comfortable macro fun with your new studio chair :)
Great video will give this a try. Did you experience any problems aligning the photo in a stack I had some odd ghosting effect. I couldn’t decide if I had done something wrong or photoshop couldn’t aligne properly. I look forward to your next video
Thank you Charlie! I normally don't have any alignment issues when I do stationary time lapse. A hyper lapse with the drone is a different thing but then it might get a bit wobbly. Ghosting effects only happen when a tree is moving in the wind. Are your single images ok or is there anything odd visible? Oh, is your tripod stable enough?
Yes it is, the good old 100mm f/2.8 macro USM. No stabiliser and a horribly slow autofocus but inexpensive, tack sharp and it creates a wonderful bokeh :) Thanks for stopping by!
@@OliverHerbold Good ol trusty! Never did me wrong in the past as well. I noticed putting any extenders or adapters on it sure does take down the AF speed 10 fold. I remember trying to use it with an A7s 2 and adapter and just gave up on auto and went full manual lol😂
@@TopshelfStopMotion I'm with you here, over all it is incredible value for money. And when it comes to macro photography, we are in manual mode anyway. I'm not giving this little guy away :)
Thank you Daphne. This is just an inexpensive little battery powered LED light, which I got a couple of years ago. Here is a direct link: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07438JXM7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Great video, thank you
I'm very glad you liked it. Thanks a lot!
Nice one, Oliver, #2 for me with the wonderful colours. I always found macro photography very therapeutic. Cheers.

Great tutorial again. It's summer.
Not quite yet - but the next summer is coming soon! Thanks again for stopping by Eligius.
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing your process
Thank you very much for your nice words!
lovely creative idea, I love my macro lens so will have a go!
Thank you for your lovely words Julie. My macro lens had a layer of dust on it. Now as it is in use, I found out that it is addictive ;)
These are brilliant. I don't own a macro, but I see a rental in my future to give this a shot. Thanks, Oliver!

Is that the canon trusty 100mm macro? Has been one of the most trustworthy crisp lens I have owned in the canon family no doubt! Nice tips!👏
