just a wild guess from other similar comments, I think it's to tell family and friends that you are a witch.
I think to each their own. What feels right for you is correct for you. I’ve been a chakra chi energy user and in the crystal closet for... well a long time. And anticipate being in the broom closet as well. it’s being empathic, I absorb other people’s feelings and emotions and feel that if they knew and was disapproving it might effect me. Even if they say great awesome. They may feel, Oh no I am crazy or whatever. If someone see’s a crystal on my table and ask. I’m truthful but play a little dumb. “ oh it’s cool right? I heard it’s good for _____ and I could use whatever help I can get!!” Currently my alter items are spread out on my bookshelf’s that also has inherited items, little cool things. Neat boxes. And I can set up my alter at the table, coffee table, bar cart that has plants on it or even one of my vintage TV dinner trays. Just lay the alter cloth that’s in a cleansed box where I want and go. If it’s a candle spell I’ll use the bar cart cuz it’s metal and marble. And I can walk away from it. If it’s a quick spell I’ll use the TV dinner tray Etc.

I came here out of curiosity to see what the young witches do this days. Everything is so cute and trendy. 35 years ago, when I started, I usually would get my supplies at the cemetery, the forest or my balcony. My scariest moment was when I got locked in a haunted house in Argentina. Times change, good for you guys.

Palo Santo isnt as endangered as most people think. As long as you get it from a reputable supplier. It's wild crafted and harvested by one family who have actually replanted over 30,000 trees in the past 10 years. So basically, they use one and plant another. Just thought I'd put that out there.
I haven't had the chance to do the full research, but I've heard both ways. I figured if it was truly as bad as some made it sound, it wouldn't be sold everywhere at such easy access. Despite this, I'm the type that has to over research something before I take an opinion. Thanks for the info
@@TheWitchOfWonderlust perfectly understandable, especially given the RUclips channel. You don't want to be giving out false info. Just wasn't sure if you were only getting one side of the argument, so figured I'd pipe up.
White Sage also isn't endangered. I've done a lot of research (and gotten a lot of hate from those who don't want to look into it themselves) on the subject. The whole thing started when some police misspoke during a comment to the press. The cop said it was endangered, when it never was. It is endangered in one county of California, where a couple of people went out and illegally harvested hundreds of pounds of it from the desert. They then got arrested and that's what lead to the cop misspeaking. But as a whole, it's not endangered nationally, and like Palo Santo, if you buy it from a reputable source, it's renewable. It's preferable to buy it from a Native America producer to support their business, but this whole rumor has done a lot of damage to their businesses.

@@Wanderer_of_Sol That's one of the biggest things that I'd love to cover once I feel comfortable, is getting supplies from reliable sources. The local Native Americans who run their shops out herein LA always have the best products and are so knowledgeable in using them too. Highly preferred over anything in a chain or larger company shop.

I use chakra related beliefs in tandem with some of my witch practices. Don’t be afraid to follow your instincts and blend. It’s all about what feels good to you!

But yeah, for those of us witching on a budget, you can find these things in the dollar stores and in our back yards (or public park if you dont have a back yard). Cute, but not at all necessary. Bowls are bowls, water is water. Its the intent that makes it what it is and how you use it.

MythicGirl2210 “smudging” is a term I think that goes specifically with sage and some people don’t use the term . But for cleansing a space you don’t need to actually light it up with physical fire 🔥 magic isn’t always what the eyes can see 🧜🏼♂️ for example visualization techniques like she mentioned ? There’s a bunch of ways , your magic YOUR RULES 🕸
I've tried burning dried rosemary bundles from my garden and they flame up super quickly and fall off everywhere and so can't be used inside because of a fire risk (I tested outside first thank goddess lol)...any tips or tricks for how to get a better burn like the premade sage bundles you can buy?

Tbh I don’t really do smoke cleansing these days lol I always like to light them though using a candle instead of a lighter . But you can also burn whatever it is on a charcoal disk! And have it in something ?

I have the strangest cup in my house. It is a heavy dark grey clay-type cup. The whole front of it is some kind of gnome's face sticking out of the cup and when you look inside there is a little creature sitting there in the bottom of the cup....like a baby troll or something. My exhusband always claimed it was bad luck. I don't know....still have it. I must have gotten it about 30 years ago.

to add to the pet safety thing: guys, birds are REALLY sensitive. their lungs can't handle smoke or even candles in certain amounts. birds are more high-maintenence than most people think, they need a lot of attention and hella space and there are a bunch of things that bird keepers have to watch out for: even certain kinds of cookware. please do your research and lots of it before ever getting a pet. thanks for reading, blessed be ♥️

You can plant, grow, propagate, and harvest your own too ❤ smudge sticks are very easy to make.
Grow your own! 😊 Growing your own herbs is very witchy. You'll never run out, and you know the ethics, etc. Growing any plants is a great way to connect to nature, especially if you live in an urban environment or in an area that's pretty cold in winter.

Oh my goodness! That is an awesome box! I am so grateful that you posted this! I have always thought about ordering something like that for a spiritual/metaphysical selfcare. With my life so busy I am constantly working and taking care of family, while staying on top of the standard mundane chores from about 5:00 am to 11 or midnight Monday through Friday. The weekends are when I can get a little downtime. Unfortunately when something has to take the back burner due to time constraints, it's usually time to continue my spiritual routines. Like researching the metaphysical, meditation, or spellwork, writing my grimoire etc. And trying to find the time to buy anything that I can use for these things, is definitely difficult too. Not to mention that I am really particular about all the things I buy. So unless I feel that little "tug" in my stomach or chest that lets me know that it's more than just liking something, but it is something that's needed or meant to be, I wouldn't buy it. But shopping always takes me a long time. This box is amazing. I adored everything that was in it. I have finally found one that resonates with me. Thanks for the presenting it in a relatable way, with complete honesty and sincerity! Thanks to your video I am finally ready to buy my first subscription box of any kind and what a great theme to start with! 😍 You made my day. Love your attitude! Where you're adding the rosemary "mixture" to the vinegar for cleansing, is that a rosemary tea? Rosemary tincture? If you're also using it for "mundane cleansing" (love that phrase), isn't there the possibility of it staining, say, your couch or drapes? Especially if you're using essential oils...

Omg someone else that hates the smell of lavender! My soul mate 😂!! Also be careful using vinegar to clean with.... Its an acid and will deteriorate protective coatings. So you shouldn't use on flooring wood furniture etc. It will ruin it over time. Tends to look dull over time.

That's why it's diluted half with water! I've never had it have an issue with my surfaces, but thanks for the heads up!
@@TheWitchOfWonderlust definitely better but still be careful it will still wreck eventually. Most flooring warranties are void if you use vinegar to clean (even Mr clean). Just to give an example
