If you really look close to every ice dance teams facial expressions with attention, all of them look funny and sometimes "ridiculous" but I don't think its an issue

No, they are Meryl and Charlie. They aren’t trying to be Tessa and Scott. The theme in RD is the same for all couples, not trying to copy styles.
