Why?:
Yard sale right after her son left for camp that set in motion the entire story and the whole reason for woody getting stolen and Andy's other toys going out on the adventure to rescue him
She's also the one that bought Buzz in the first movie, accidentally left the toys in the curve in Toy Story 3, and gave away Bo Peep in the 4th one.

The biggest sin of this movie, for me anyway, is the issue of Woody's apparent rarity as a collectable toy.
If Woody's Roundup was a popular enough show to generate all the merchandise that we can see Al has collected, then there would have been millions of Woodys sold. As the hero character, he would be the single easiest toy to find.
Now I could accept that "our" Woody is the best-condition one that Al has ever found. What I can't accept is that he's apparently the *only* one Al's ever found. In reality, Al would have boxfuls of Woodys in various states of repair, and that could have been a great scene - Woody meeting dozens of copies of himself.
According to some supplementary material our Woody is apparently a one-of-a-kind variant made specifically for a giveaway involving the cereal sponsoring the show right before it was cancelled.
Still doesn’t justify Al not being able to find another Woody doll but it does add context as to why he would want our Woody in particular.
The movie did that with buzz

You missed a few sins here too.
1. Don't call me a pervert for noticing that Andy's mom's backside gets a lot bigger and rounder in the 3rd movie, because here, it's flat as ever.
2. The bowl of cheese puffs should not have scattered as far as they did, especially on a carpeted floor.
3. The toys should totally be busted on some kind of Al's Toy Barn surveillance camera. Yeah, you could say the store isn't open yet, but surveillance cameras never get turned off.
4. Why is the new Buzz casually walking around the store? Where did he get the box to put the real Buzz in? Is the store completely empty or something? This whole "exploring Al's Toy Barn" scene leaves so many questions unanswered!
5. I may be nitpicking here, but why is Al obsessed with selling Woody? He's already a commercial actor who lives in a 20th floor condo and doesn't appear to have any financial issues. In fact, if safes to say he has more money than the average American, but his size should tell me that he's greedy, so yeah, not a sin, just wondering.
6. How do Woody, Jesse, and the Prospector all have the same voices as the actors who played them in the old TV show? Think about it.
7. 10:57 This is actually a sin on Jeremy's behalf for mistakenly calling Woody Andy.
8. Why does Woody look up through the box when Slinky opens it in an elevator? That could have been Al.
8. WHY DID THE PROSPECTOR RIP WOODY'S ARM!? I thought he wanted him to go to the museum in perfect condition!

The difference in the scene is explained in the movie's Director commentary. Copies sold in America featured an American flag. While copies sold elsewhere featured a globe.

There's a relatively modern sort of humor, where you purposely confuse on pop culture item with a similar one. At 14:00 when the “Sentence:” appears, it fits perfectly into buzz’s eye. That’s weirdly placed but it makes my ocd smile
So, some things I ended up thinking about with this movie yesterday while I was stuck at work.
First, having been to the toy museum the one mentioned in this movie is based on, I don't think Al was dealing with an actual representative of the museum, but a con artist or someone on the museum staff who was planning to go behind the museum's back to make a bigger profit off The Round Up Gang.
Toy Museums don't refuse to buy your collection simply because it's incomplete.
Even without Woody, Al should've been able to sell his whole collection to the museum years because the time in the movie.
Sure, it wouldn't have been AS MUCH money as Al could've gotten if Woody was with the collection, but that's still a super impressive collection that any museum would be chomping at the bit to get their hands on and he'd still have gotten quite the sum of money for it all, sans Woody.
Al was being conned right from the start, the poor guy.
Also, I'm surprised you guys didn't sin Zurg seemingly having endless ammunition.
Yes, he believes he's the real Zurg, just like Buzz believed his was the real Buzz Lightyear in the first Movie, but... he's still just a toy, as are the blasts from his Ion Blaster.
He would've had 6, maybe 9 balls Maximum to fire, but the movie acts like he's able to fire endlessly.
I guess they just didn't want to take the intensity out of the scene, as Zurg running out of ammo after 9 shots and then having to spend several minutes trying to collect them all up again would've killed the mood of the scene and held things up.
Still, it's very glaring how the movie insists it follows logic when it comes to certain aspects and how the toys are just toys but ignore that for dramatic effect when it came to Zurg and Buzz's battle atop the elevator

Merlon Large sections of figures are *never* solid. And as if to prove a point, yesterday I opened up the base section of my own Zurg to make modifications. Aside from the battery compartment, a speaker, and a small plate of metal it was *entirely* hollow.

+xMjnonx Fun Fact: I stumbled upon that book at random in my school's library and checked it out to spite my friend (for no particular reason haha) who also wanted to use it for a book report we had to do. I ended up checking it out at any given opportunity and read it like 5 times before I graduated elementary school (library visits dwindled unfortunately) so when I heard there would be a movie I was STOKED. I guess it wasn't THAT bad but I feel like they removed a lot of the stuff that made it scary and for some reason added a random boy because...male representation??? Thankfully I saw it on TV rather than went to the movie, though.

I love the Cinema sins videos. I’ve made a hobby out of picking out where movies messed up or pointing out the plot holes for years so much that it just comes natural. I can’t Watch movies with other people without ruining it for them. I’ve always wondered how I can make this useless hobby of mine into some kind of living and these Videos give me a lot of inspiration.
