    The thing that was really sad about De Niro's late 90s/early 00s forays into mediocre comedies was that he'd already shown how good he could be in comedy, in movies like Midnight Run and Neil Jordan's remake of We're No Angels. His earliest film successes were comedies, Brian De Palma's Greetings, and its sequel Hi, Mom! He certainly had nothing to prove.

      the flops still seemed like he was having fun with friends. same as radcliff who's been n some very weird experiments, dunno if I can call them flops... given how success wasn't the target.

    Funnily enough, I actually consider De Niro as more of a comedic actor (personally); I don't know what it is, but, anytime I see him, I want to laugh.
