Looks to be a fine queen, having layed up that one frame and capped brood. It's amazing at how quick the build comb and go to filling it with what they need. And.... A little snack (feed) never hurts anything!
Congrats on the swarm catch Joey. Happy Easter. I took my first sting to the forehead today. Walking around the back yard. Wasn’t even working bees. Must of went into the flight path of one.
They look good buddy. I just put out a couple of swarm traps up here in West Virginia yesterday it is still a little early here for us to be catching swarms up here. But I want to be ready for them when they do swarm. Hope you have a great Easter my friend.
Looks like you may have a honey producer with that one. That comb on the bottom has motivated me to go ahead and transfer the one I caught. I'm pretty sure it's smaller than yours, but you never know.
Mug up Joey, the wind is howling and temps will top out at 45 degrees today. It's a no-fly day. Thanks for sharing. Still have fondant on the weakies. Have yet to do first inspections. Swamp alders are starting to produce pollen, yeah! I was wondering, have you ever used a double deep box setup for a swarm trap with all foundationless frames in the bottom? Would the scouts interpret it as open space or too cluttered? Would they just build wonky comb in it? Thanks again, Happy Easter
I have used a deep box with a couple old comb and some plastic and foundationless like that on top of an empty medium. They actually work well. Foundationless would work as well. Thanks for watching. Thanks for watching. Happy Easter.

Nice swarm!!! I brought one home last night from a customer’s house. I’ll let them settle for a few days and then transfer into a box! Thanks Joey!
Thank you. I just may have to take my traps down. I will be getting short on equipment again.
@@josephrawls I collected 2 more swarms today. Why don’t you make your horizontal hives into 2?

Does the feeder have a float inside?
No, It just creates a vacuum. The bees have to suck it out.
