You can take the girl out of London but you can’t take London out of the girl. Goosebumps. I still miss all that London has. After 40 years away in Australia. Cant be right all your life.
@@timeisexpensive - it's a paraphrase of the old American saying - "You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl". As an ex-Londoner myself, the analogy makes perfect sense.
mapex123full They’re all extremely good. Coldstream & Grenadier’s being the best. But the other three are very good also. Best in the business (along with the Royal Marines bands)......
@@tommyjardine1714 Not really, they play red shield which is one of my favourite marches and scarlet and gold a lot. Coldstream is very good but it’s not my favourite band, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t play good.
Let's go for a walk in the warm sunshine. Ok. Lemme just grab my insanely-oversized black hat, my formal parade boots and my polyester military jacket . Now where did I put my shiny white gloves? Oh yeah, they're right by the front door next to the 40 lb. tuba. Those guys must have built up some incredible strength and stamina. They deserve a big ice cream sundae (or frozen yogurt) when they return to base.
Those hats have history behind them as does every soldier and his uniform, pray God we never part with any of it. England is not the same as it once was, let’s hold on to something. I love the insanely oversized hats.
Well said, Sir; on the side, they’re also battlefield medical assistants, drivers and a host of support roles; the Corps of Drums double as the support weapons platoon, too - the Band that just keeps on giving;)
There are two senior Coldstream Guards officers to the Drum Major's left and just out of camera view. They are waiting to walk out once the way is clear. There are other videos available where you can see them exit. for example: ruclips.net/video/X6QcaGn2chE/видео.html
David Drake I don’t think so? This is down The Mall. You can stand both sides, and I’m sure the same on Birdcage Walk (adjacent to Wellington Barracks)? That’s the lovely thing, that you’re able to get fairly close to the guards and the bands?! Good recording opportunities. And to walk (march) along side them almost?!
Majestic and Dignified Performance by the British Army Coldstream Guard Regiment. From a retired American Marine Corps Bandmans, MOS Clarinet 5534.
Thank you for that praise, George - and thank YOU for your service.

Me too, this Welsh girl still misses London, after forty years in Australia.
British military bands are all about the bass drum & bass trombone!
Brilliant piece of video and sound, it was just like being there, I know because I was!
Coldstream Guards band is the best !!

Coldstream band plays the worst tunes.

Love the way street liners peel off as the band keeps marching along, that is great. Nice vid by the way.
God Save The Queen. Long Live The Queen.
Can't get anymore British than having two Jack Russell terriers cuddled up to one whilst one is watching this
I married a Second Battalion Coldstream Guardsman in 1973.
British military bands are the best!
Playing The Kings Guard (almost twice)
Sons of the Brave
Wellington March

Musically outstanding
Superb!
BRILLIANT .... 🇬🇧
God save the King!
From 4.55 Sons of the brave.
Did you collect music from the grenadier guards, the Scots guards, or the Welsh guards?
Do they do this every day ?
Does Anyone know why The Drum Major Salutes as the Band leave the Barracks

According to DMaj Taylor he told me he was giving a Salute to General Sir James Bucknall, Colonel of The Coldstream Guards.
Is one side of Birdcage Walk barred to pedestrians?
