It's a pity that Brad's ego made so changes, the writer of the book said, it's an ok movie but that is not my book.
The author did say he was asked to help with the film but stepped away and admitted he liked it because it wasn't like his book but it's own thing

@JAP if not mistaken on the extras of the DVD/blu ray Max Brooks did mention he was asked to help with the film but decline. Also in a RUclips video called "everything wrong with world War z" there was a clip of him saying he did enjoy it at a comic con

And yes that is more or less what he said. I never said I was quoting him. He said it was OK, because it wasn't his book, and if you had read it you would know that, and if you did any research you would also know Brad was involved in the changes.
Maybe next time before you even try, do some research first.

"An Oral History of the Zombie War" was a great documentary style novel. I wish the movie would be remade in that style. Hollywood seems to add their own BS to an already great story & probably didn't think a docu-drama would sell tickets. Don't you need "Leverage" to strike? Hollywood writers have a lot of nerve for striking especially all the TOTAL CRAP they have written in the last 15 years. Current writers suck. Lock me in a hotel room with a couple mildly creative people for a week and we could've written a better Star Wars movie than the last 3.

Hopefully one day there will be an adaption combining the two in some way.
