So many ways ppl cheated at this. Some would remove the eraser, then bite the extended metal so the end was a slicer (no slicing). Sometimes ppl would extend their index finger alongside the pencil as he chopped, ensuring instant "victory" (no chopping). Sometimes the holder would brace upward, sort of curving his pencil upward (no bracing). Some ppl would bring those wood/plastic composite pencils (still #2 pencil & allowed) - the only advantage was extra curve on bracing, so... Then there's the guy who brings the extra huge round novelty pencil he got in his Xmas stocking, and he was sure to win (not allowed, even if a #2). None of these were failsafe in ensuring victory. I knew a guy who won against a huge novelty #2, even after surviving the initial strike, tbf he was using one of those extra bendy composites, and some say he was bracing, but it was hard to tell. No idea how he ended up winning on that next chop. Something must've been wrong with that extra huge round #2 novelty pencil. Either way, that guy is a legend, even to this day. That guy, was Yours Truly.
Yes, I remember every illegal technique you mentioned. 😂😂😂 4 the record, those really big extra round pencils could be broken too. I know this cuz I have done it. Takes approximately 6 strikes but I was really good at pencil fighting.

You mean that gay propaganda slop show? Its such a shame because the show was actually really good, it had that old slice of life cartoon network feeling to it, but then they made everyone gay and it just drove me away, not to mention it kinda just started feeling cringe.
Pencil fighting at my school became such a nusiance that a rule was instituted stating that if anyone was caught pencil fighting would get suspended from school. Unfortunately I got caught.😂
I was thinking about the day of the great “Pog raid” in about 94’ my 6th grade year. I was lucky because for some reason I just didn’t go nuts over collecting Pog pieces but was waiting for the morning bell to ring just outside the door of my home room class when I saw a gang of teachers and the principal and VP headed that way. They had all went goofy over pog thinking it was for sure gambling and these kids are delinquents. It got silly and everyone my age in my hometown still brings it up randomly for a laugh. One year later the entire male student body from the JR high 6th-8th got called to come to the gym and told by the Principal.. however a new one by now. “Boys there ain’t gonna be no more of this nut thumpin goin on at school yall here me?” We had all gone rouge catching the guy who had likely already gotten you previously not paying attention with a solid backhand to the nether regions causing the one receiving the 🎱 whack to bend immediately over in expectation of the pain causing those walking between classes to laugh at him for getting caught napping and dropping his guard and then .. well you likely know exactly what if you’re reading this and watching and went to JR high. It was the funniest speech ever made by a principal to the students I promise. He kept asking “why? Why would you do that?”and well that was a good question.
then you can just say no mechanical pencils, if they ask why you can say well, mechanical pencils on made out of metal, so you're basically just using metal

The sadness of only having one pencil left in your backpack, then getting peer pressured into a challenge, and it snapping. Or so I’ve seen, for I was undefeated.
I actually did this a couple of times, we stopped when my friend let the pencil slip out of his hand and someone got a pencil eraser to the eye. Glad it was the eraser end
We had something similar in korea. The only difference is that we aren't doing "pencil vs. pencil, "but rather, "one pencil vs. a middle finger cocked back and slamming onto the pencil." This would then transition to harder objects and eventually end up being "walnut vs. middle finger." This was very popular when I was going to school there. Now, I rarely see games like these unless they are on a "no cell phone" field trip
In india, the pen fight is a bit different. We join 2 desks together making a big platform, setting small obstacles on the table, and both warriors would chose their choice of pen. After keeping the pen on the table, we strike it using their fingers ,like you strike the stricker in carrom, trying to make the other pen fall from the desk. It was deemed an out if your pen fell OR if YOU make the others pen fall in the FIRST TRY. You cannot defeat your enemy on the first try so to make it more fair. Yes, it was a P2W game since costly pens are heavier , giving them strength and weight advantage but very few warriors possessed those.
An experienced wood warrior 🤝 I wanted to fit both of those in! Bridging is definitely frowned upon and should be outlawed. And the covert karate chop…dirty move. Will definitely cover them in the longform version. May your pencil strikes be swift and powerful 🫡
Brokie from the 90s checkin in. We did this with sporks from lunch because N. 2s were a luxury. Shit was like supreme branding back then. You bend the tip of your spork like a scorpion tail, pull it back and let it crack at the spoon/fork plastic. First to lose their whole spoon lost. And if you were a real winner, you went onto the next round with your already broken spoon knowing you were better. Damn, Mario Sunshine was a dope game.
