The latest version is indeed better, but there are still shortcomings of gta san andreas definitive edition, namely CJ's feet and NPCs that penetrate the asphalt road in Red County. You can see my latest content about the game.
Vice city would have benefitted from both in my opinion. For example classic lighting to be used for the majestic sunrise and then automatically use new lighting for day time as it really helps bring out the atmosphere of miami better
I’m 2+ years on RUclips and have not reached 150 subs, yet I’m still here. Keep going, guys, don’t give up! Best wishes to all the small channels out there.
It definitely adheres more to how these games originally looked which had a lot to do with hardware limitations. I don't think the "newer" lighting and color pallet is bad. In many ways its superior. The only instance I think its rather awful was at places at night like Portland beach and airports where it was almost pitch black. Its not awful, but I would rather play these games how I remember them with their distinct color pallets. It is awesome how you can toggle them on and off though.
@@adrienm8989 90% of the game is orange it’s very cringe I understand that’s how the original is but I wanna play a nice remaster with updated graphics not the same game… if I wanted the original I’d get the ps2
I would love it if it dozen make my game look so dark for no reason. I like how the classic lighting introduces new colors and make the overall scene looks vibrant but at what cost? At the same time I osho hate darkness in games. So in conclusion, if you prefer natural looking, just keep that off. If you want more vibrant and colorful look, keep it enabled and crank up your Brightness slider to the max for compensation.
Let me say San Andreas Definitely needed Classic Lighting It looks wayyyy betterrrr with classic lighting On GTA III Is Subjective While I Like more with the Classic Lighting On The only good thing with classic lighting off is the clouds GTA Vice City Is 50-50 While Classic Lighting On Is Great And All It brings that classic feel, The New one is also good, it gives modern game vibes, and something about The Purple and blue Atmosphere in the sky looks it good and I feel like the orange haze suits better only on San Andreas
To be fair...the original lighting and presentation of the definitive editions is not bad. It's not. Its not bad at all. If it was any other game it would be fine. The classic lighting restores the game's original color pallet and aesthetic which I appreciate, especially San Andreas. Let's be honest, San andreas looks the way it does on PS2 because the developer opted for quantity over visual fidelity. It a lot of ways SA looks worse than the first two games, and lot of the tricks they used to get over the awful draw distance and pop in was things like the fog and haze, the blur effect when driving fast, and the clouds. They were all tricks. Back then since games could not reach photo realism, they relied on giving the game its own visual aesthetic that worked....which I am actually starting to miss (other than Nintendo of course). I think it would go a long way if Rockstar took a page from the Konami collections and the Atari 50 Collection and add a lot extras to these games. Add and option to play the original remasters from the PS4, box art, maps, trailers, ads, SA introduction video, some info about the making of the games. God Tier if they can some how restore the original sound tracks.
Might be unpopular, but I feel like bringing back the same lightning instead of an improved version of it, kinda killed the whole purpose of the remastered versions
⭐Do you think it looks better with Classic Lighting Off or On?
I think at 5:59 you have the on and off reversed. wrong shots
Classic lighting on.

Classic lighting keeps the PS2 vibes, but looking like next gen, it's great!
Classic lighting makes this look like an art piece. I love it.
Ps4?
The classic lighting makes the game more real

@@bryansteele832nah even without the nostalgia, new lighting is very flat, classic lighting has a better atmosphere.
For SA it’s the opposite sadly…
@@TheBrian98exactly, takes always shadows, lighting reflections etc…..

2021: This actually looks like a mod tbh
2024: This actually looks genuine tbh
0:02 that was really impressive
Classic lighting makes the game feel more natural and normal like the original
The difference in SA is just insane. Thanks for this video!
Beautiful

How does it look better on San Andreas? It looks like ps2 game except desert area
vice city could've used much more bright and vibrant colors. in some situations, it looks like san andreas. but still looks better
If add more bright lighting nd dark shadows in classic lightning the will look like gta5
I'm glad everyone like the new classic lighting, but I will stick with it being off. Classic lighting is too dark imo, prefer the natural lighting.
Overral GTA Vice city best with classic lighting on than GTA 3 and GTA San Andreas
3:43 BRO LOOKS LIKE GTA IV 🗿

only gtasa is great with classic lightning...

I'm in the minority here but I prefer the new look.
The new look sucks, we want the OLD look.
same
LoL Rockstar made the game look ugly with this lightning 😅
How? It went from flat to vibrant.
@TheOnePistol they just increased the saturation, nothing else😅
@@zw6512 Are we looking at different videos? Have you actually played it since the update? I can confirm it's more than just a saturation change. 😎👍
they both look bad
