my father in law fought in WW2 as a sniper in Germany Italy France Belgium and the Netherlands. He volunteered to serve his country. He was a very tall man with huge hands he never spoke of the war. All his friends that signed up with him were killed. Only once I heard him say we did what we had to so we could live free no regrets. I would watch him on his porch through a window and look at his hands his feet his eyes and pictured him in combat running building to building throwing grenades laying in muddy trenches hauling injured soldiers and I was just in awe of this man. A gentle giant. Rest in Peace.❤

It wasnt a world war world has 200 countries in it,it were mere 8 countries who were trying to show whose dick is big specially hitler and great britain and in that dick competition millions of innocent died as usual specailly jews, who litrally had nothing to do with both the parties fighting and those innocents also who were under british rule,so by default they fought this war from british side, britain is as guilty as hitler even more than that, but britain called it as "rule, brithish rule",it was more atrocious than hitler and it happend in open,if hitler did to britishers what they did to jews i would be over the moon in happiness, but what hitler didnt able to do,the jihadi islamist are doing it in britain, those immigrants have wiped out villages after villages of local british people, half of the london looks like karachi, you cant even go their in daylight, its all coming back, britain is in deep shit and it will get worse, your whole race will be wiped out

I was able to spend time with both allie and German veterans and civilians and the experiences and stories told was once in a lifetime event. To see buildings that had a roll in a battle and to hear the the story from both side was a dream come true it's amazing how many building and other structures are still standing today

Perfectly said. The photos encapsulate these moments in time, forever. The soldiers who were oblivious to the photos taken of them are now stuck at that moment in time, this is all that’s left of them, and this is all we have left to remember them by. So yes, quite literally stuck for eternity.

In world wars I and II alone there were probably 100 to 125 million casualties, including civilians that also died from war related diseases, famine, etc. What would the world be like if those people were alive to multiply and change the outcome of history otherwise.

These are such moving photos . I had Great Uncle’s who fought in WWII in Europe , one Uncle was in the D-Day invasion . He was captured forced marched to prison camp escaped recaptured escaped again was wounded, found by civilians and hidden till American soldiers went through the village . My Grandfathers were past enlistment age but worked for Companies that made things for the war effort . At home my grandmothers had victory gardens, and one raised chickens for eggs and Sunday dinner when they stopped laying eggs . In those days many civilians did what they could so our service men had what they needed.
