Usually, I do a switch. If I have a table, my favorite one to control x cards, is to take a thumb break in biddle grip under the last x cards while the spectator holds onto their cards, cut a small amount of cards in the other hand, let the spectator put their x cards on that pile, discretely let the thumb break cards fall on the x selected cards, dribble a bit on the table, put a card, dribble a bit again, put the next cards, and so on x times, then dribble the rest on top. 😁 Easy to do, works for any amount of cards, and always go unnoticed 👍
