@@jerryfiore5818 he has a ridiculously high batting average of excellent covers for me. There are very few of his I don’t like. I always get frustrated when publishers and authors say his style is outdated.
Hope you enjoy my story in Ghosts of Malta. I really like what you're doing, and I think I need to follow in your steps and highlight some of the books I love.
Well I know they are frowned upon but I hope you like the Butlerian Jihad trilogy. I really enjoyed it (a bit violent but I think it showcases the stakes)
Awesome haul! I recently got all 8 of Melanie Rawn’s Dragon Prince series of books from our local used book shop. Well actually 3 trilogy’s, with the last not being completed, but it was great being able to get all of them. I’m excited to start reading her work.
Really impressive haul. I also read Children of the Jedi just to complete the trilogy (even though it was the first book!). I didn't think it could come close to Darksaber, with its alliance of Daala and Pellaeon, but I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it was.
Did you read about the Mckay’s anniversary sale they did? If you visited all locations on the anniversary day you got $800 in store credit. Wish I could have done it.
@@steelepartridge6954 I did hear about that. It didn’t work with my schedule and would have been hard to pull off (plus all the gas money), but maybe in a future year if they do it again.
Awesome haul, gonna have to add a few of these to my tbr! Curious also, do your students know you run a booktube channel? If so do they watch it? Have they ever given any feedback on it? I feel like if had a cool English teacher back in the day that ran a booktube channel and listed off great recommendations I would've been WAY more into reading as a youngster. 😅 Alas, youtube didn't even exist at the time
My students the last 2 years were 5th/6th graders, so they mostly just post funny comments or just say “Hi Mr. Koan”. I have 1 or 2 that watch seriously.
@@jonathankoan Nice! I'm happy to see you included L.E. Modesitt Jr. there. He has such a long running series and I've seen him on sale occasionally on Amazon and stuff, but I don't think ANY of the booktubers I follow have ever mentioned him. Curious for your thoughts later this year!
I'm curious as to the books you currently own what percentage have you actually read cover to cover and not just sitting on your shelves to look pretty? I should point out that Titan is based in London, which explains the European Trade sized book
@@TheShadoth that makes sense then! I thought it looked European. I’m looking forward to getting to the series.
