Amen, Hallelujah! I just exited a "situationship" that I let go on too long and quite frankly felt like I was being used. I'm 30 and I haven't dated much in the past, but I prefer to date with intentionality which a lot of the world doesn't do. I'm happy as a single person, I don't need someone else to complete me, but I do long for companionship and a family of my own. Until then I will just continue to pray and trust in God. I really feel that God led me to your channel to remind me that he is in control and to trust in him. His plans for my life are much greater than my own. Thank you for being a light and an encourager in a dark and bitter world.

I can tell you from experience that it is very difficult to be real with yourself about the situation you're in with a guy you like. It's so easy to think of reasons for why they're not putting in as much effort as you would like. But after doing this too many times, then asking for clarity and finding out that I shouldn't have given them so many chances.. I realised that I shouldn't do that, but instead let the guy just show me his intentions. If they don't match my standards, he's not going to get my attention anymore. Right now I'm going on dates with a guy who's been very honest and open about his intentions and where I stand with him. IT IS SUCH A BLESSING to not have to make up excuses for someone else! I don't even know if we're gonna fall in love with each other, but so far.. he's made me feel valuable. Don't settle for less ladies. You deserve someone that doesn't need your made-up excuses :)

And I wanted to know, if we met and hit it off, what his plan was moving forward. I felt it was a mature thing to talk about, and he didn't seem to think it was weird. I needed this! But I also feel very called out by this 😂 I have been “talking” to a guy for three months who is either taking it slow or just shy and I don’t know where his head is at. I am sooooo nervous just trying to text him so I need the confidence to ask him for clarity some time.
As someone who has had to do this... don't wait forever! The sooner you get clarity, the better. Looking back on my situation, I probably waited too long and it was hard for me move on when he said "I think it's better if we just remain friends." If I'd asked earlier where things were going I wouldn't have been as emotionally invested and would have been able to let go more quickly and easily.

I don't know how old you are but if you're like beginning twenties or older I don't think it should be a problem. My parents are 10 years apart and have been together for 25 years now so it could work out just fine. Something to keep in mind for the long term though: if he's the older one and as the years pass by there's a possibility that your energy/health levels don't match up that well anymore. As in: he might need some more sleep and might have more physical issues. It's just the natural process of aging but more noticable with an age gap in my opinion. But you know if you feel attracted to the man and he seems to be a good guy then go for it haha.
