The best thing Cobra Kai ever did was bring back Yuji Okumoto as Chozen. Honestly he's been one of the best characters on TV.

Man I always felt Chozen had feelings for Kumiko, even during KK2.
It explains a lot of his anger at Daniel for falling for what chozen thought was his girl. He would've hated anyone who Kumiko wanted to be with.
I thought it was obvious when he took off his shirt and threw it to her. "You keep it. For your collection". Sounded like she had a few of his shirts already.

When Daniel asks Chozen if Kumiko knows, the way Chozen answers "NO!" breaks my heart. He clearly still feels so much regret for his fight with Daniel and attempt to kill Kumiko if Daniel didn't fight him. I really hope we see them get together or at least be on the bridge to that in Season 6. Chozen deserves to be happy.
It’s so sad that back in Karate Kid 2, Chozen’s rivalry with Daniel got so far that he was willing to kill his own childhood friend to make a point
@@justopher8487 It might've been the case that he liked her even before Daniel rocked up, just that Sato's negative influence being the reason that it never got that far....
Honestly, even watching KK2 as a kid, I don't think Chozen actually had it in him to kill her. I think he was bluffing. If Daniel called his bluff, Chozen would likely have leapt over the bridge to get to him. Afterall, where's the honour in killing an innocent woman?

I love so much this series because of the essence: REDEMPTION! Johnny, Chozen, Mike Barnes becoming nice guys across the years and after maturing is so confortable, telling us to give ourselves a second, even third chance after our messes and failures! And it is a beautiful paradox this lesson is here, in a karate fighting universe!

I know it's subtle, but I love the pat Johnny gives Daniel just before leaving. Finally he sees Daniel as a friend, not a wuss.

Ok so as a child the first movie I remember watching in theatres was Karate Kid Part: 2. I still love that movie and still think it's the best of the series bare none! It's still in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. After watching Cobra Kai, it gets harder to watch because I no longer hate Chozen. I actually would be happy if the writers decided to have them end up together.
Kumiko is to Chozen what her Aunt Yukie was to Mr. Miyagi.
